Notre Dame would beat Auburn, Ole Miss, Vandy, Arkansas, Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Miss st., and then up set A and M, Florida, Georgia or South Carolina and would get destroyed by LSU and Bama.

So would be somewhere around 9-5 if they played the entire SEC which they never would anyway. They played everyone tough.

OK fine, they would lose to Vandy.
You underestimate a few of the SEC teams and you also don't take into account the "SEC Grind". There are very few "breathers" when you play an SEC schedule. You don't get Navy to lick your wounds. Your down week you play a Miss. St. etc.

I take into account everything. I know exactly what their schedule was.

Notre Dame was fortunate as every break that could have went their way did. Pitt. was a sure loss, stanford was 3 inches either way from being a loss, BYU could have been a loss, and a couple others as well. Notre Dame could have very well been in the Independance Bowl. The Pitt. win felt like divine intervention as they lost that game 3 or 4 times.

You know these things yet you don't apply them to your analysis to ND as an SEC team. :ohno:

I am putting them in the middle of the pack in the SEC where they belong. No doubt they benefitted bowl wise from being an independant

Impossible and unfair to give a won/ loss record for them as they do not even have an sec schedule but generally speaking, I would say middle of the pack and in a Dec. 27th or so bowl game.
