Whatever they are paying him is too much.
Clueless.
Brings absolutely nothing to the table.
No redeeming qualities.

No nothing

I disagree Chop. I think he's really entertaining and knows his shit. Who can't remember his quote, " YOU PLAY TO WIN THE GAME!"

Herm Edwards earned notice and his shot while working as an assistant coach under Tony Dungy and that dominating Bucs' defense.

Moral of the short story is that some people getting a shot at the limelight is warranted, and some aren't...(Edwards being the latter)

I don't watch much ESPN but do any of their ex-jock analysts ever say anything value?

They all say the same tired cliches. NFL has nothing like Charles Barkley for the NBA as far as making the transition to being an analyst goes. I would say the best I can think of is Cris Carter.

Just another ESPN affirmative action hire like the rest of them. Fatass Lomas Brown has got to be the worst though. "Duh, needs me sum aaa cornbrea wif me beans"... He is proof regarding lack of evolution.

So many of these supposed experts don't really add any true content as they should. He was a head coach in the NFL, only 32 of those jobs are available at 1 time, yet he can not bring more substance than he does.

I wish him and Greenburg would get into it. I remember when he was head coach of the jets, Greenburg who at the time had no idea he would be a future co worker slammed him saying "he is a nice guy but a horrible coach" going on to say "On 1st down, it is always a run off tackle, 2nd down, always a screen pass, 3rd down, always a draw"

Wish they would bring that up.

And Dungy was a shit coach and very very overated. This is coming from a colt fan. He was brougt in to fix the colts defense and it gets worse, plays the same vanilla fronts on every down, never blitzes....I shouldn't be able to look at the defense and know what they are going to do pre snap. If I can do that, I can imagine what other teams see that I don't.

They actually touched on that on today's Mike and Mike. Greenberg admitted, as a Jets fan, he was critical of Herm's playing callingas Jets coach. Herm said something like "Hell Yes! I was conservative and ran the ball a lot. Our best weapon was the running back, so we gave him the ball a lot. He is now in the Hall of Fame, so I guess I wasn't too wrong"

Spot on with Lomas Brown

I do hate listening to 99% of the people on espn though.

I am hoping the nbc or cbs sports networks take off

When he is with other analysts he interrupts them constantly and yells and screams the same thing over and over thats my biggest pet peeve I have with him.

I do think he is mildly entertaining and seems like a nice guy. But he can be annoying and lacks substance most of the time.

Herm is ok as long as they talk about football. Which is all they ever do on that damn mike n mike show. They should rename it to Mike n Mikes Year Round NFL Chat.

Terrible, just like about 85% of the other ex-players that are analysts...

I give espn the blame. His personality is different from what it was a couple of years ago. He's almost like a tabloid ballyhooer.

Same thing with Mark May. His interaction with Lou Holtz makes both of them look like buffoons. I often wonder if he really means some of the things he says or if it's just his "job" to give an opposing view. ... Same thing with Edwards , some of that stuff (especially his bravado) has to be scripted and not his actuall view point or personality.

What an idiot. I wouldn't talk football with this guy if he was sitting in my office with me...

then dont watch espn.

im tired of the same whites whining about espn programming time after time, yet are too stupid to pick up the remote and change the channel to another show. we have these dumb threads every week with the same cast of characters.

I'd almost guarantee it. No way they can argue as much as they do.

I guess a guy that played and coached the game for 30 years doesn't know much about the NFL.

Why am I not surprised GTC and The Goofball Returns would make this post about race? Just like waking up in the morning, some things never change.
