Massachusetts Residents Watch the 3rd Most Porn in the Country

Here in the Hub, new data shows we’re very familiar with another type of hub.
Pornhub.com, that is.
The adult video website worked with Buzzfeed to develop an infographic detailing America’s porn consumption in 2012.
The data looks at the number of videos watched per capita throughout the year, finding that Massachusetts residents viewed 7.52 videos per person in 2012. Not sure if I should congratulate us or scold us, so I’ll just leave it at that.
D.C. watched almost double the amount of videos than any other state. That can only mean that when they’re not arguing over the fiscal cliff, politicians have way too much time on their hands. Hawaii came in second place, which surprises me because if I lived in Hawaii, I certainly wouldn’t be sitting indoors watching adult videos on my computer.
According to Pornhub, here are the top porn-watching states in the country:
D.C. – 14.18 videos per person
Hawaii – 7.57 videos per person
Massachusetts – 7.52 videos per person
New York – 7.50 videos per person
Rhode Island – 7.28 videos per person
New Jersey – 7.21 videos per person
New Hampshire – 7.06 videos per person
Connecticut – 7.03 videos per person
Maryland – 6.67 videos per person
The data also revealed December 27, 2012 as Pornhub’s highest trafficked day of the year in the U.S., with 12.82 million visitors. Not surprisingly, just two days prior to that, Christmas Day, was Pornhub’s lowest trafficked day of the year.
Additionally, last month, a study by porn search engine Pornwatchers.com found that since 2006, we have watched a collective 1.2 million years’ worth of porn. Yep. Millions. Of. Years.
Up in Canada, the numbers may be even higher. According to the Huffington Post:
Researchers at the University of Montreal were unable to carry out a study comparing the views of men who had never watched porn with those of regular users because they were unable to find a single man who hadn’t seen it!
