Isnt Greg Maddux worthy ?

How can any writer leave him off their ballot next year ?

What about Jeter in about 8 years ?

It will probably never happen. Hall of Fame voters (sportswriters) are such a fickle group...

Isn't it rare to have more than 3 in a year?

I see 4 at least next year

Maddux, Glavine, Thomas, Biggio.

There have been at least 50 players that should have got 100% of the vote.

Who were the idiots that did not vote Willie Mays, Ted Williams, Hank Aaron, or Babe Ruth on the 1st ballot?
Whoever they were should have had there voting rights removed on the spot.

The MLB HOF has lost all credibility with me starting with Pete Rose and driving the final nail this season without BB and RC.

I agree 100% with this, but as long as the steroid era is around there will always be a doubt by someone who is voting that possibly that player took steroids or some kind PED. All it takes is 1 voter. How many this year handed in a blank ballot? That will continue for years until the game is completely cleaned up.

in that case I would easily put Mantle in that group of WTF's as well as bout 40 others I could name ... so I agree with the disbelief on this.

If Rose didn't gamble, he would be in the HOF. Players are judged on the ENTIRE career contributions. Thats why i laugh at the Bonds voters. Bonds has a HOF career before he roided up. If so, why did he do it? Its a big difference in legacy to a HOFer and to be on the level of Aaron and Mays. That's why you cannot assume.

If Cal Ripken can't get 100%, then no one will.

did cal ripken get in largely on his attendance ? simply because he went to work every day, like most people ?

.276 career average. dont get me wrong , he had a good career...

Anyone who leaves Maddux off their ballot should have their vote taken away, IMO...
