I have got a ball stuck on the side of the rim hundreds of times but never at the top like in that video.

An Adelaide 36ers fan was denied his money shot earnings after nailing it from a half court shot. In incredible circumstances, the first shot got stuck between the ring and backboard, so they let him take another shot, which he nailed from the half way (Dec 22, 2012)
But, the promoters didn't see it that way, and held out paying 26-year-old Jarrod Hurley his cash. Only after public pressure and media interest was the money rightfully paid.

I have shot a ton of half court shots, and none have come close to getting stuck like that. My junior year in college I worked at the gym and worked from like 530 am-9 am. When I got off the gym, was empty and I had an hour to kill before class, i would just shoot half court shots for like 30 minutes. Actually got pretty good at it
Gave my friend 2.5-1 he couldn't hit 1 out of 10 halfcourt shots few years back. First time he missed all 10 and lost and he was like ok lets keep running this. Then he proceeded to hit 1 every 6 times or so for a little bit until I waved the white flag. Once you develop the muscle memory and get a rhythm for it you can shoot them a lot better than an avg person trying out of nowhere.
