Oregon coach Chip Kelly will be the new coach of the Philadelphia Eagles, league sources told ESPN.
Kelly re-emerged as a candidate recently and an agreement was just reached Wednesday.
The Eagles had interviewed Kelly early in its search for a replacement for longtime coach Andy Reid, talking to the coach in Arizona after the Ducks' 35-17 Fiesta Bowl victory over Kansas State.
But sources had told ESPN after the meeting that Kelly had decided to stay at Oregon. The school never made an official announcement regarding Kelly's employment with the team, however.
Kelly is 46-7 in four years as head coach at Oregon. The Ducks have been to four straight BCS bowl games -- including a bid for the national championship against Auburn two seasons ago -- and have won three Pac-12 championships.
He originally came to the Ducks in 2007 as offensive coordinator under Mike Bellotti. Before that, he was offensive coordinator at New Hampshire, where he started devising the innovative hurry-up offense the Ducks are known for today.
Oregon finished last season 12-1. The team was ranked No. 1 and appeared headed for another shot at the national championship until a 17-14 overtime loss to Stanford on Nov. 17.
Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

Yes or some other former top program. Seems the majority of these always end the same. Only college coach I would bet on is Saban in the NFL. He knows you need a real quarterback.

You are prob. an eagle fan though and think McNabb and Vick were good. He will bring his high school offense in there with likely a high school "dual threat" (black) quarterback, and it will be downhill from there after a few exciting plays.

Eagles fans have to have it the worst in the last 20 years. you have had zero long term hope; always trying to catch the black lightening in a bottle.

Youre right, i highly doubt he has any success. He should have stayed at oregon.

Eagles were after offensive weaponry.. they were pretty open about that.. this might keep vick around for a while and he might shine in this formatpuff_>>

based on what, what he did in Miami ? Think Harbaugh and Carroll can top that !

Kind of a head scratcher. Andy Reid always had strong offenses but had issues with defense lately. So what do they do... Philly hires an offensive coach with no defensive background and no proven NFL results. I don't get it.

they are going to outscore opponents and tire them out .. 60-45 type games

Ck has a tremendous iq. Brilliant clock manager. He is very smart. He knows he will have to make adjustments. I laugh when I read people post things like his college style offense won't work in the nfl. Ck knows that better then anyone. This could be huge. He may not only revolutionize the eagles. I think there is a chance he could be a big part in revolutionizing the entire nfl

I don't follow CFB enough to really have an much of a opinion on him. Obviously it isn't the best job right now considering Eagles are mess.

However the fact he knows what the fuck probability and positive expectation are probably puts him ahead of half the coaches in the NFL based on common self alone.

Just don't know about him and I have my doubts...But being the Eagle fan that I am I will give him the benefit of the doubt, but I thought there were better qualified candidates out there..hopefully they come up with a defensive coordinator soon...

Jake, the team is in complete disarray not just the defense. The truth is no one realized how good jimmy Johnson was when he was around, probably top 5 d coordinators in the game in the last decade. Ever since poor jimmy passed away the defense has stunk. Chp Kelly is a helluva football coach.... This is a very positive move for the Eagles.
