[h=1]'6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder': Wife of Patriots' Wes Welker goes on extraordinary Facebook rant against Ravens' Ray Lewis following loss[/h]

The wife of New England Patriots star wide receiver, Wes Welker, went on a rant following her husband's loss, criticizing Baltimore Ravens' linebacker Ray Lewis' personal life and calling attention to his criminal history.
'Proud of my husband and the Pats,' Anna Burns Welker, a former Miss Hooters, began her message, following the Patriots' 28-13 defeat by the Ravens.

But she quickly added, 'By the way, if anyone is bored, please go to Ray Lewis' Wikipedia page. 6 kids 4 wives. Acquitted for murder. Paid a family off. Yay! What a hall of fame player! A true role model!'

Spousal support: Anna Burns Welker said she was 'proud' of husband Wes but went on to bash the opposing team's Ray Lewis.

On Welker's wife Facebook message, which was obtained by The Big Lead, she is referring to the 2000 homicide when Lewis was charged with murder following a stabbing at a post-Super Bowl party.

Lewis, who announced he's retiring at the end of the postseason, has been a focal point of the media's coverage during the playoffs.
Welker's wife later apologized for her initial post, saying, 'I apologize to Ray Lewis and his family for my comments. In no way did I mean for them to be mean or hurtful. I'm embarrassed for being a sore loser. I wish Ray and the Ravens good luck. Lesson learned!'

Mobbed: Lewis is surrounded by media following his team's victory Sunday.

But her initial message recalled a troubled time in the future Hall of Famer's career.
Lewis and a group of friends were at the Cobalt Lounge in Atlanta for an after party on January 31 when a heated argument breaks out between Lewis' group and another set of clubgoers.
One witness later said they saw Lewis throw a punch during the scuffle but no one claimed Lewis held a knife.

Beauty queen: Welker is crowned Miss Hooters at their 2005 pageant.

After Jacinth Baker, 21, and Richard Lollar, 24, were mortally wounded, Lewis and an entourage of 10 piled into a Lincoln Navigator limo as shots were fired.

The two victims died nearly instantly after being knifed to the heart.
Lewis was soon taken into police custody where he admittedly supplied police with false information.
He was then arrested and held without bail. Reginald Oakley and Joseph Sweeting were also arrested.
The trial began less than four months after the homicide.
Two weeks into the proceedings, Lewis agreed to testify against others in exchange for the murder charges being dropped.
He pleaded guilty to obstruction of justice and received a year of probation.
Even after testifying against Oakley and Sweeting, they were acquitted of murder and assault charges after a jury deliberated for five hours.

Lewis was fined $250,000 by the NFL and later reached a financial settlement with the victims' families. A confidentiality clause kept the amount secret.

In the past: Here's Lewis at his arraignment in 2000 in an Atlanta courtroom.

Listening closely: Oakley sits in court as Lewis testified against him.

Mrs. Welker's Facebook message isn't the first time that a Patriot wife has lost her cool after a crushing playoff loss.
Ironically, after last year's Super Bowl defeat to the New York Giants, quarterback Tom Brady's supermodel wife, Gisele Bundchen, criticized Welker for failing to make a catch that would have sealed a victory.
'You [need] to catch the ball when you're supposed to catch the ball,' she was overheard saying immediately after that 21-17 loss.

Got his back: Anna Burns Welker's rant is reminiscent of Bundchen's tirade following last year's Super Bowl.

'My husband cannot [expletive] throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times.'
Lewis will now lead the Ravens against the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl on February 3.

She's right of course, nothing more disgusting than Lewis talking nonsense about gods will, when it comes to his retirement. Having said that, Welker once again might have cost his team the super bowl, although brady didn't make a truly exceptional pass the whole game.

As a Patriots fan, i'll admit - I hold Ray Lewis in the same esteem as I do Jeter and Kobe. I can't judge their off-field lives, I just can't. But on the field, they are very, very good... Stone cold, even. Can't say a bad word about 'em.

I thought she was going to apologize for her husband dropping key third down passes on Sunday.

Everything she said about Lewis is true. He probably should be in jail but instead the press turns him into a gospel minister

How can you compare Lewis to Jeter or Kobe? I can understand comparing him to OJ but Jeter likes getting pussy (he's male - how weird) and Kobe cheated on his wife - Lewis was charged with murder and the charges were lowered in exchange for his testimony against his friends - at the same time the white outfit that he wore the night of the murders that was allegedly covered in blood miraculously was never found

LOL, I didn't get that either. Lewis involved in murder, Jeter/Kobe not so much.

Welker's wife an idiot though for saying the 6 with 4 thing, like that is remotely unique for pro athletes.

It's ironic that Disney did not want ray ray saying " I'm going to Disney world" after they won the Super Bowl. Now they're hiring him, stay classy Espn.

It's rumored that ray did his crackhead dance right after he slit those guys throat. Then him and his boys went to the strip club. My only question is did he say a prayer before or after he made it rain?

she is an idiot for telling people to run to wikipedia. wikipedia is not a legit source. she should also keep her mouth shut.

people move on, except jealous types with an axe to grind.

i lump these whites with the ones who to this day go on about kobe and that colorado woman even when there was evidence beyond a doubt that she was a whore looking for fame. he was still a black man getting it on with a white woman, which made many of these jealous whites angry. i still see some whites whining about that to this day whenever something comes up with kobe.

ive read the lewis case and there is not enough information to prove he stabbed anyone.

Too bad Fox wasn't broadcasting the game. Was looking forward to the America's Most Wanted promos as they show Ray Ray walking off the field the last time.

wiki isn't the most accurate for facts, agreed. Which fact do you have a problem with on the Ray Lewis page, GTC08?

I'm not sure which is more humiliating, being linked to a double homicide or being crowned Miss Hooters.

since the Pats are not allowed to talk shit and give memorable quotes, the press has to look to their wives to get the zingers

I'm thinking Belichick has a meeting with the wives next year and tells them to STFU too :)

havent read it.

if you were writing a paper and said you cited wikipedia as a source, you would be mocked and ridiculed though.

Yes, it is common to get aquitted from murder and then afterwards, give 7 figures to the victim's family for something you allegedly had nothing to do with.

If a millionaire commits a crime, just having it go to trial says they are guilty because if they were innocent, they have the money and influence to never have it get that far.

Anyway, just deport Ray lewis. It will save this country money down the road. He will be in trouble again and to get back in spotlight, he will whine, cry, and be dramtatic years from now saying the NFL took away his right to raise a family because of his concussions. Just imagine how dramatic he will be on that crap.
