It is a laughable.
Books had to have been getting absolutely smashed to pull what they have pulled the last few years, with the lack of overnights and overall total plays being the worse it has ever been this year.
Backtracking the last 6-7 years using the opening weekend of college hoops as the benchmark (I am trying to remember from year to year so it may not be exactly right, but it should be close).....
* First, all games had totals on them in November. They were posted overnight or early in the AM.
* The next year the totals weren't posted until 30-60 minutes before tip-off on November games.
* The following year, no totals at all in November. Sporadic totals in December, mainly TV games. By end of Dec/early January all games had totals posted, but they were not hung until 5-6PM EST!
* Then, the next year, not any totals until January I believe.
* This year, nothing again in November, and I only recall seeing a few TV games with totals in December Not much in early January. Just now it seems like only a few books are hanging totals on all the games..... finally, in MID- JANUARY!!!
( I really didnt pay attention too much this year b/c that market has been destroyed and they arent even worth playing anymore IMO.)
( It is nice to see RAS adjusted and made the transition to sides, but that had to crush his model and some of his profit/business.)
I would love to hear from some of you guys who work at these offshore shops.
Why the pullback to such a radical degree? What was happening?
