Never too early for this thread right?
Always enjoy hearing everyone's menu and plans and stealing a few for my own.
I can tell you one activity we did at last years Super Bowl that was a huge hit and a ton of fun. I got the idea from this forum but couldn't find the thread when searching for it.
Anyway, what I did, was type up a page of various bets (close to 50/50 type bets) and have everyone circle their bets. Think there were 20 or so bets and whoever submitted a page and $20 was in the contest. Whoever got the most right won the pot.
Part of what made it fun is that a lot of the bets did not require a lot of football knowledge so even the girls loved it and, importantly, were glued to the TV watching the game.
Examples of the bets would be:
sf -3.5 Or Balt +3.5
Over or under 47.5
coin toss: heads or tails
Score in the first 5 mins: yes or no
team to score first: sf or balt
team to register a sack first: sf or balt
team to commit a turnover first: sf or balt
longest td: over or under 49.5 yards
first td pass: kap or fflacco
first td run: gore or rice
Team to score first in 2nd half: sf or balt
You get the idea. There's a million prop bets online. Trick is just to find ones that are as close to 50/50 as possible. The prop bets that keep everyone watching are the most fun. The sack bet is a good example. You'll have half the crowd hoping for a sack every single play at the beginning of the game.
What are everyone else's fun ideas?
also want to hear some good Super Bowl snacks/meals.
Favorite Super Bowl snack (this might just be a southern thing): bite sized grilled chunks of duck stuffed with cream cheese and jalapeño. That and Rotel dip. Wish I could eat Rotel dip everyday of my life (make it with the cans of hot Rotel and spicy sausage).
