Is there any way for TheRx to create a sub forum where you would need some sort of invite to be able to view/post there? VIP Section LOL

I've always loved this place, but they are letting too many posters post BS all of the sudden. Its kinda driving me away....

I just think it would be great it there was a sub section for ONLY members who have been here for a while and are proven Rx'ers.

why would we not want new people to post bud? And out of curiosity what kind of threads or posts are you referring to?

I've never been one to complain Murph but i've seen ton's of posts that have been out of line over the past few days.

It has nothing to do with new posters not being able to post, they'll still have the whole forum to post on.

But for some people they wouldn't have to deal with the BS if there was sub section only accessible by certain RX members.
Truly I think it's a good idea. Like I said call it the "Vip Room".

It sounds like a good idea in theory, but if this was put into practice it would be a disaster under current conditions.
This place is barely busy enough now to keep this place going. Im speaking strictly of the offshore section.
If you divert the traffic we have now even further it would create a snowball effect lowering the volume even more.

This would work for a more busy forum but this place dont have the traffic necessary to pull off what you are talking about at the current time.

And in theory the VIP section would be exclusive to what the powers that be deem to be the best posters.
So if all the "so called" best posters are posting in there secret place therx would not be very attractive to potential new posters that would not have access to read these "so called" best posters.

That would almost be like the NFL not allowing new NFL fans to get to see the star players only allowing them to see the backups.
That example kind of sucks but you get the idea.

if there were a VIP section there would have to be rules:

1) 13,200 posts in order to be invited
2) maximum of 5 posts per day in the entire VIP forum (need traffic on public pages)
3) maximum of 1 thread started per day per poster
4) no feds

I almost brought some of your points up in my last post.
A 1 or 2 post max a day would be cool.

Or you could make one post in the VIP section for every 10 post you make in the regular section if the software would support this.

I dont have a problem with having a special section for veteran posters as long as it does not potentially cannibalize the offshore forum.

If you make it to where the only way you can post in the VIP is if you stay active in the offshore this could actually help the growth of the regular forums which is the ultimate goal.

tate why do u think the RX did the pts system? To catfish the posters later and make them never be able to use the rewards?

:):)

I am fairly certain pts will be able to be earned in a lot more ways, be able to be bet on games, be able to be exchanged for gift cards and many other things, and quite possibly be used for a lot other stuff in the future.. how soon the future is will be the only question... but I know that its just about implementing the different tech to be able to get those things done.. not very easily can you construct those things unless we have a thread where u just write in I want to bet San fran -3.5 or whatever...and that is an idea.. but doesnt have as much allure as an actual betting book.

to be honest I am disappointed that you feel there is ton's of posts that have gotten out of line, yet if you feel so strongly I will be straightforward with you since I consider you a cool guy in my book. Why have you not reported the posts? Or at minimum contacted me and at least suggested something.. ..but you did let it irritate you and affect you so much as to make a post about a VIP lounge where you could go and stay away from that.. so I am curious as to what you are even referring to.. More or less because I want to read it myself and decide. lol

In all seriousness though, I think a VIP area would be a bad idea. It would take away the leading by example legendary and long-term posters can do on there own naturally for the new guys.. it also might make the regular forums become less attractive because the new guys always wonder who is a hot capper and that sort of thing.. and who would want to come here and read the forum a few weeks and then choose to sign up, if there was nothing relevant to read because KillarSox was posting in the VIP room which was unreachable until they had 5 yr tenure.. lol puff_>>

Just some food for thought which would make the idea seem like it wouldnt be the RX anymore.. it would be something completely different.. and honestly I am not sure I would have came to the point I am on a forum like that which sounds like a good ole' boys club... << not my cup of tea.

Its a perfect example of how something can sound like a great idea at first glance but once you start thinking of all the pro's and con's you realize it would not work out in the real world.

At another forum I read that uses the same software as therx you get the bars based on of the posters like your post.

There is an option at the end of the post where you can vote if you found the post useful or not useful.
For every 100 useful votes you get you are awarded a bar.
