Vegas and VPN's

I live in Canada and work for a UK company (betting related) and often go in to the US. I take my laptop and can access UK betting sites via my VPN no problem but wondered if anyone has tried this in Vegas. I was worried they might block them somehow. If its an issue I'll go somewhere else with the family over Easter break.

Anyone who has used/tried using a VPN in Vegas - views appreciated.

what do u mean by "vegas" blocking them.. u mean the whole city has VPN block @)

just teasin... why not just not use your vpn while in a casino.. maybe place a bet in that actual book if ur in the sportsbook puff_>>

I don't bet US sports - I bet UK ones and was just worried that Vegas might want to protect its action by not allowing VPN's in case they we're betting elsewhere.

In China for example plenty of VPN's are blocked. Not comparing Vegas with China but for me its my living so didn't want to take the chance on going to Vegas if I wasn't able to access the sites I need to work and bet.

Without a VPN i'm presuming? In which case I should be fine. I thought it would be but you never know to what extent Nevada will go to protect its turf.

not exactly sure what a vpn is, so im assuming no i didnt use one. i also accessed 5dimes from my own wireless, and the hotel wireless. so i think youll be fine

VPN = Virtual Private Network. Your traffic goes via a server in a different country so you appear to be accessing from that country not the country you are in. Particularly useful for watching TV content, Websites restricted to certain countries etc. Eg: I can access Netflix USA via a US VPN from Canada which is 50 times better than Netflix Canada.

You may want to look into remotely connecting to your home computer...

basically leave your home computer on.. then use the software to remotely connect to it as if you are at home and using that same desktop and computer by logging right into it giving you full access. You can goto logmein.com and check out the free version or even try the trial of the paid one and then you can login to your home computer and then go through your vpn that way. This means you will never be blocked puff_>>

Didn't use a VPN, but at least using a VPS (to do betting related stuff from LV) wasn't a problem...
