I don't understand why people buy Apple when there are competitive products that are just as good at lower prices.

It was the "in" brand of products for a while but I really think you'll see less Apple lemmings now that Steve Jobs is gone. I really believe that but I could be wrong.

The problem with Apple is that there not introducing any new products, they're just giving face lifts to old ones.

If they are truly working on a Tv it could end up being a great thing for the company.

They're working on a tv and selling it as "the last thing that Steve Jobs worked on."

Its going to bomb.
They are using SHARP to make the panels. SHARP is average at best.

All they are going to do is basically take the APPLE TV attachment they already have for $99 and incorporate it into the TV.

A tv is not a product like all there other products where they can convence people to buy a new one every 2 years like all there other products.

Not bashing them. Just saying its not going to work.

I probably have at least 1 of everything they sell except for the IPOD touch and the IPAD mini.

I will not be getting an APPLE tv.
Not happening.

It's suppose to be way beyond that CHOP.

From my research on it, it's going to be "smart tv" like the ones currently being made, however it will have a Retina display on the tv.
Sounds like it's going to be in a sense in between "Hd tvs" and "Oled".
It'll have a better picture than 99% of hd tv sets out there now, but won't be as dramatic as Oled tvs IMO. Plus the price tag should be around 1/4 of Oled.

Not saying I'll run out and buy one, but I think people are going to be surprised. Not by the current apple tv features, but by the video quality.

I would be shocked if they could sell what you are basically saying is a 50" IPAD screen for less then 7K.
If its all those things you say I would be impressed.

It will take a hell of a lot for them to get me to take my Pioneer off the wall.
As of now thats the best set on the market.
We shall see.
Im pro APPLE so im open minded.

So the resolution is going to be more than 1080?

Even if it is until the networks adopt that it would not matter.
You cant improve the source getting imputed to the TV.

Leave it to Beaver is still black and white even if you are watching it on a color tv.

So until the Networks upgrade there signal more then 1080P it would be overkill.

I read something awhile ago that suggested they would be 30"-50" tv sets. With a 40" estimated to be around 3500-4000.
It's all just here say at this point I guess, but it would be great if they could provide that.

Tell me you wouldn't take down your Pioneer if you could replace it with an ipad quality screen?
Even when I go to yahoo.com to check my email on my ipad, I'm amazed at the detail and quality of the pictures and videos. Beyond anything I've seen on a tv.

Even if the resolution is of the same quality as the IPAD it would still require the networks to send a source worthy of that resolution.

If the signal is outputting 1080P it wont matter.

We shall see.

Apple would have to blow me away to get me to consider making a chance.
Not saying that cant happen but I doubt it will.
