Give Sportstap a try....it is a little delayed but pretty good.

sports alerts is the best score app I have.
I have about 10 or 15 score apps.
I try them all.

Sports alerts will send you push notifications on anything you want.

Start of a quarter
lead change
Every 5 mins.

Things like that.

I've been using Yahoo Sportacular Pro --- This has been the best scores app for me.... Scorecenter sucks so bad --- The Score was pretty good I thought, but I'm so used to the Yahoo app that I never really looked at anything else.

I use a lot of similar ones as above. Also use...

Evernote (sync work notes/to do list from my pc to a ipad and my phone)
AroundMe (tells what resturants, etc are close to me when I travel)
Aldiko for reading books, not very often though
WatchESPN

That's about it, mainly just for browsing, work email and texting honestly...

i thought sportstap was out of service just recently this year.at least i recieved a message when being on it that it was going to end on a certain date
