Li, #6 seed dominated #2 seed Sharapova in the semi-finals (6-2)(6-2) after beating #3 seed Radwanska in the quarter-finals (7-5)(6-3). Meanwhile, Azarenka had a more difficult time with #29 seed Sloane Stephens in her semi-final winning (6-1)(6-4) in a match much closer then the final score. Stephen was really challenging her in the second set and was on serve at (4-5) when Azerenka called for a questionable 10 minute injury time-out and admitted later that she was really rattled and had chest pains as Stephens was putting pressure on her. She then broke Stephens for the win. Li has been playing her best tennis ever under her new coach and the Austrailian Open is the most prestigious tournament to an asian player. She is very consistent in her percentage of first serves, as well as minimizing unforced errors with her ground strokes being deep from side to side. Expect Azarenka to make more unforced errors causing her more pressure and ultimately fold under the consistent play of Li.

first this isn't important, second if I'm wrong Ted...please correct me. If memory serves me right 1* used to be $5,000 for OMT, which is awesome. What is more awesome is I envision Ted as an elderly(sp?) Barry Stension (how i meet your mother). I pulling for you cause your class, good luck Ted.

I agree Ted. Like AZA a lot normally but she didn't look as good versus Stephens who just quit that match. She just defeated Idol...Serena and then comes back the next day for the quarters.
I also saw AZA have mini-meltdown in the Stephens match when she had it in the bag. Well the way that LA is playing...she is going to meltdown again.
