These 18 players names came out in a recent CNNSI article. Don't know how in the world they have Gasol and Bosh on this list but oh well.

Sure Fire:
Kobe Bryant
LeBron James
Tim Duncan
Kevin Garnett
Dirk Nowitzki
Steve Nash

NBA Champs that are a step under the sure fire players:
Dwyane Wade
Paul Pierce
Jason Kidd
Ray Allen
Tony Parker
Pau Gasol
Manu Ginobli

Likely Risers:
Kevin Durant
Derrick Rose
Chris Paul
Chris Bosh
Dwight Howard

On the bubble:
Carmelo Anthony
Vince Carter
Amar'e Stoudemire
Chauncey Billups
Grant Hill

Jason Kidd should be on the lock list.
Give me Jason Kidds career from start to finish over Nash any day of the week.

Chris Paul is also already virtually in.

Grant Hill is a lock considering that College has a huge say.
He would have probably made it even if he did not play in the NBA.

gasol is a 2x champ and played a critical role in those games. how many big men can claim back to back titles in recent history other than shaq?

gasol is also an international star and has 3 golds in FIBA

how is he not a HOF?

Yeah, agree with Kidd. Phenomenal career. He's a wife beater but great PG.

gasol and ginobli in the same group as guaranteed hall of famers d-wade and ray allen?

derrick rose WAY too injury prone, i would bet dollars to donuts he never gets close to hall of fame status. durant almost has him doubled in career points and came out only 1 year earlier

Considering what Ginobli has done for international basketball, I'd say he's a sure-fire HOF player. Not Gasol though. I think he's a steaming turd.

Paul Pierce is a lock.

He will be in the top 10 in NBA history in points scored by the time he retires.

He might overtake John Havlicek as the highest scoring Celtic ever.

If June 22nd or whatever 2010 you asked me is Gasol HOF I would've said yeah I'll bet a ton on that. Back to back titles, played great in both finals elimination games. Changed the balance of power in the NBA from '08'-10, led some pretty crappy Memph teams to 50 wins.

However, he has totally faceplanted since then the past few years. Since it does include international career he likely will get in, but he isn't really the lock I figured he was that night.

Finals MVP.....If only him and KG could've played together when they were young. They really only had 1 year together until KG had that injury and became a different player. They also won the NBA title that year with the most dominating finals game clinching victory ever.

The Truth!

We've yet to see if Derrick Rose will be the same player he was and will stay healthy, so his HOF status is more up in the air than probably any others on that list...

I'd say P. Pierce is easily one of the most underappreciated stars during this generation. Think it's because he had a lack of flash so to speak but he's produced no doubt.

I'm moreso go with the fact his best teammate for the first 11 years of his career was Antoine Walker. Tough to overcome that and win.....

So when people finally started watching KG/PP on TV, yeah they were still good but they weren't the players they were on their primes when they were pretty much buried on bad teams. This just kinda changes peoples opinions of them a little subconciously.

No doubt he will be a HOF. One of the better centers the league has even seen. Took the Magic to the Finals with not much help.

avg 18ppg and 13rebs a game, 2.2 blks. I don't see how he won't make it when its all said and done.

3 time DPOY. If Rodman can get in with 2 DPOY and only .2 more RPG, I think Dwight gets in if he plays at this level for a few more years.
