I think we all can agree he is NOT the greatest ever and there are many other WRs who come to mind when we talk about #2. Michael Irvin, Chris Carter, Tim Brown, Marvin Harrison, Terrell Owens, Steve Largent, Andre Reed, James Lofton, Art Monk, where does Moss Rank?

i honestly think he had the greatest potential ever......but he isn't even top 10 because of his effort....he won't even run routes if it isn't going to him

megatron could be best ever when all is said and done

The list starts with Jerry Rice and goes from there...but you won't be calling too many names before you get to Randy Moss...

More talented than Jerry Rice, but not as dedicated. I'd make him a firm #2 though.

We should talk about this the day after. He is in the Super Bowl. That is in itself a great honor. Monday we will have more to say.

Id be willing to call him the best "pass play receiver of all time". But there is more to the position than just running routes and catching balls.

Randy Moss had 156 receiving TD's, 2 passing TD's, and 1 Punt Return TD.
But a guy with that kinda speed had only 25 career rushing attempts with 0 rushing TD's.
Even Rice had 87 rushing attempts with 10 rushing TD's, for comparison.
Great talent, sometimes in his career just with a team at the wrong time. Vikings blow 1998 NFC championship to Falcons. Then the Pats blow their 17-0 season in Super Bowl and no ring for Randy after his outstanding 2007.

Tom Brady for a few years.

Very close to the top IMO, but like somebody else said, his attitude and lack of effort have to be figured in.

When in his prime there was nobody more dominant. I'm not saying that makes him best ever.

I would put him in the top 3 best college WR's that I've seen. And top 5 NFL receivers.

He might have been trained by the best (Chris Carter).. but he was never the best.

Id rank them

Jerry Rice
Chris Carter
Randy Moss (and that is being liberal)

You can Throw Lofton ahead of Moss as well

Calvin Johnson will or has already made the Top 10, just no Super Bowl rings because of the team he plays for.

I like Tim Brown as well because he can do just about anything....short or deep routes

Not taking anything away from Moss... but he's Not the Best

I remember one play by Randy Moss that I'll never forget. The Jets were playing the Patriots when Ryan first took over as coach of the Jets. I believe it was the start of the 2nd half. All I remember is Moss running down the field on a "go" route, and he held up his hand to let Brady know he was open, and he just smoked the defender and caught the pas for a TD. Wasn't even close. It was like a man playing with boys! I just wondered if he could do that all day long. If I'm not mistaken, the Jets won the game.
