Mark Grace has had two drunken driving arrests in the last 15 months.

[h=3]PHOENIX (AP)[/h] Former Arizona Diamondbacks television analyst Mark Grace has been sentenced to four months in jail under a work-release program.

The 48-year-old former first baseman with the Diamondbacks and the Chicago Cubs pleaded guilty Thursday to felony endangerment and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol.

Grace was arrested last August in Scottsdale, his second drunken driving arrest in 15 months, and could have faced more than three years in prison. He had pleaded not guilty in October to four felony counts of aggravated DUI and was scheduled to go on trial March 19.

The Diamondbacks fired him as their analyst after the August arrest but later invited him to participate in a fantasy camp.

A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman says the jail sentence begins Feb. 10. Grace must also serve two years of probation.

Arizona has some strict DUI laws. Did Grace lose his job because of the DUI?

thats what the article says -- but i think people in the business already knew about Gracies drinking habits beforehand.
He's a decent color guy on the games -- if he can clean up his act - he should be able to get another gig somewhere --maybe Pittsburgh -- ahahhaaa

Grace was the WORST color analyst I ever had the displeasure of listening to. All the guy knew how to say was GAS! Over and Over and Over again, along with other random stupid shit.

Thank God him and Daron Sutton were both fired. They were both horrible!

I do not agree with sentence.

Everyone will disagree, but MAD has made DUI punishment ridiculous.

Truth is some can not handle 3 drinks and drive and others can handle 18 mixed drinks and drive. It should be based off the situation but it isn't as cops love DUI's because the govt. makes great margins on these.

If he was "average guy", that sentence is equivalent to a death sentence. A real job would never hire him, he would lose his house, car, etc.

Seems to me if MAD, police, and government really cared about drunk drivers than they would raise money and give everyone a breathalyzer with an exact reading so that person can see if they are the legal limit before getting behind the wheel.......

But they care more about the money from it instead of the people they claim they are protecting.

There you go well-seasoned, all that matters with those are profits.

Think of all the people and municipals that collect on something as simple as a DUI. Attorneys/ courts/ probation BS/ drug test labs/ work release facilities/ BMV/ just to name a few.

It is profitable so it will continue to get even more strict. "We must get drunk drivers off the road" yeah right, it is easy money for ther system, and really what average guy is going to take the chance at trial. Just say " I did it" and get probation or risk a trial and get actual time. Whole system is a crock of shit

No one wants to take it to trial when all it is is your word against theirs. Who do you expect the court to beleive?

I disagree with putting Breathalysers on all vehicles. I do agree with MADD being a crock of shit. Didnt the head honcho of MADD get a DWI not too long ago? And I def agree that its all about $$.....hell in Texas if you get one, on top of sll the other bullshit they put on you, they also charge you what they call a surcharge. Its $1000/ a year for 3 years. Dont pay that and there goes your license.....and also, if you refuse the breathalyzer when oulled over its an utomatic 6 month drivers licesnse suspension and there is no arguement about it. They try to force you to submit to breath/blood test

Loved Gracie as a player...

I hope he gets his alcohol problem under control.

But when you drink and drive, you endanger innocent people.
