Arian Foster on Friday denied a report by NFL.com that he planned to have heart surgery.

The Houston Texans running back has had an issue with his heart since childhood. It sometimes races uncontrollably, although it had never happened during a game until Week 16 of this season. According to NFL.com's report, Foster experiences this as shortness of breath, possibly triggered by stress. The same thing happened to Houston Rockets great Hakeem Olajuwon, though his trigger was drinking cold water.

NFL.com reported Foster is likely to have the procedure, called an ablation, within the next month.

Foster, however, released a statement saying he was healthy and not planning on having surgery.

"Thank you all for the concern," he said. "As of now I have no complications with my blood pumper."

Foster explained that the report originated because of a casual conversation he had with a reporter in which he indicated he may have the procedure done at some point in the future.
