Allamn Brothers Band.

and it isn't even close. If you take the time to listen to Live at the Fillmore (East) with open ears you'll get it. Gregg Allman is by and away the best blues singer in the last 40 years...mix in the fact that Duane Allman and Dickey Betts started the dual guitar thing (and are in the top, what 30 guitarist of all time) is enough. Added to that the fact that Berry Oakly played the bass better than any non jazz guy up to that time adds to the jaimoe (backed jazz greats and r/b greats) butch (classic drummer) drumming section and you are hard pressed to come up with anything close...close!

powerz, Bruce is the focus not his band...much like Dylan and the band. 'any blues guitar player' not the best case...I'll give you four; Duane Allman, Dickey Betts, Warren Haynes, and Derek Trucks feel free to pick, all members of the ABB! Sometime I feel, like I have been tied...

Beach Boys

"Pet Sounds" voted by Rolling Stone as #2 album of all time.

The RS 500 was assembled by the editors of Rolling Stone, based on the results of two extensive polls. In 2003, Rolling Stone asked a panel of 271 artists, producers, industry executives and journalists to pick the greatest albums of all time. In 2009, we asked a similar group of 100 experts to pick the best albums of the 2000s. From those results, Rolling Stone created this new list of the greatest albums of all time.

if the Beach Boys are Rockin' Roll we should think about Lawerance Welk, Good Vibrations vs. Whipping Post!?! I do not give two shits what rolling stone has to say...it might as well be People of the music industry.

It's not a matter of "if", the Beach Boys are Rock and Roll, no matter what you think.

They may be too mellow for you, that is fine. The Beatles are Rock too, and they're just as mellow in most cases.

Oh, and by the way, it wasn't Rolling Stone that made the choice, they just compiled the poll results. If you would have read my earlier post, you would have known that:

"Rolling Stone asked a panel of 271 artists, producers, industry executives and journalists to pick the greatest albums of all time. In 2009, we asked a similar group of 100 experts"

Somehow I think the 371 industry experts' compiled opinions mean more than yours.

point made and understood. I just don't think of the Beach Boys in this vein, that's me.
