He is still a selfish ''me 1st'' type of player. And his attitude off the court is why I am not a big fan of him. Although he has matured more the last few years

No matter what way he is playing this year, it doesn't change the way he played for the previous 15 seasons

He's turned into a piece of crap who wants to be the coach as well as the star player and it's negatively affecting the team, although they wouldn't be close to a contender regardless.

I never liked the guy and i still don't. Although i don't doubt his talent and that he plays hard. simply don't care for his attitude and that i doubt has changed much he simply has learned to hide it better.

He's turned himself into a more expensive version of Ricky Rubio - -
I like his unselfish play on the court this year - -I think more stars may try to copy him in later years.
Could be a trend.

Kobe seems like he's trying to be Phil Jackson with his public display of negative reinforcement...but lacks the respect that Phil garners from the players to make it work

lol@ kobe not making his teammates better

pau never got past the first round let alone ever got a playoff win, joined the lakers, then bam back2back titles

kobe played with kwame, smush, luke walton, and got to the playoffs before

everything people saying he isn't doing now doesn't mean he hasn't done it before

kobe demands double teams on a nightly basis. the last team that put single coverage on kobe for all 48 minutes got 81 dropped on them.

Wat. When battier was on the rockets he defended kobe 1 on 1 the entire game. LOL @ getting double teamed on a nightly basis or he scores 81.

And yes kobe played with kwame, smush, and luke walton....and he made which one of them a better player??????
You can make the playoffs with just 1 great player...shit Lebron and Iverson made the finals on their respective teams (cavs/sixers) without much support

By the way. Pau was a great player on Memphis before teaming up with kobe. Lol kobe did not make him better, he was already very good

Phil Jackson also wrote a whole book on how Kobe sabotaged the Lakers 2003-2004 season:

http://www.amazon.com/Last-Season-T...8&qid=1360470432&sr=1-3&keywords=phil+jackson

"Jackson’s chronicle of his final season as the coach of the Los Angeles Lakers moves as crisply as a well-executed fast break. Under his direction, the Lakers won three NBA titles, but failed to reach the championship round in 2003. Determined to make another run at the finals in the 2003–2004 season, the Lakers added Hall of Fame players Karl Malone and Gary Payton to a team that already featured superstars Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant. But instead of producing another ring, the Lakers were crushed in the finals by the Detroit Pistons. That the Lakers even reached the last round of the playoffs was a feat given the turmoil that surrounded the team (involving the animosity between Shaq and Bryant, and Bryant’s rape charge). Jackson briefly critiques the Lakers’ biggest games of the regular season and analyzes each playoff performance, providing fresh insight without boring readers with play-by-play accounts. He peppers the narrative with pungent observations of his stars—and it’s no surprise that he saves his sharpest criticisms for Bryant. While Shaq could be difficult to deal with, Jackson contends, he was ultimately a team player. And although Shaq and Bryant reached a truce in the season’s final months, Jackson sees Bryant as the epitome of today’s selfish player, a "callous gun for hire.""
