with up to 30 inches of snow on the ground and drifts much higher, it's impossible to drive on un-plowed roads. Only heavy weight plows can be used, pickup trucks are useless. My street hasn't been plowed yet, neither has any of the people I called in our extended neighborhood.

my plow guy said he can't plow me driveway, even though he has his plow on a dump truck, because the driveway is too long. He needs to use his Bobcat, which he can't get out of his own driveway, which is all a moot point because my street is not plowed.

I have a friend coming from a neighboring town to give me a ride to my office just to pick up a bunch of files to bring home and work on, I simply can't not work this time of year, and I might be stuck home another two days. I'm going to have to walk through 24-30 inches of snow for 1/3 of a mile to meet up with him.

I've never seen anything like this in my life. Surreal

Yuk, I hate that shit. Feel pretty lucky we missed it. In fact it's should be in the upper 40's today.

Weather is not the same today as it was 20 years ago basically worldwide. Summer temps are higher with more humidity, hurricane/ typhoons are stronger and more frequent worldwide, extreme snowfalls or in some places that get snow, no snow at all.

Seems once a year a weather event happens somewhere in the US that seems very rare, yet it happens every year. Indiana, 2 years ago, there was horrible ice storm that closed alot of stuff down for a few days and then last winter, it did not snow once and temps were 30-40 all winter long. Last June where summer is still supposedly mild, it was over 100 for about 2 straight weeks with high humidity.

It will probably be in the 60's and sunny next year for the New York superbowl

Every person I have talked to is in some kind of distress in addition to the 3 feet of snow. One blown transmission on his plow, one guy had to get his father to the emergency room, one blown out back, one "ran out of medication", my neighbor was cleaning his roof and fell off the ladder...It is a fuggin shitshow around here.

I remember days like that back in Western PA. People laugh at me when I say it was one of the top 3 reasons why I moved.

Can’t say I miss it.

the screwed up part is that there are parts of my yard that you can see the grass because the wind was so bad on Friday

The Power Companies need to bury the lines but never will in some areas. New construction allows for buried lines but existing areas will always have trouble until The Power Companies fork over the money to bring about a solution which is always on the back burner in priority to "other projects".
