Game 1 of a series, the home ump is tough to find out well ahead of game time.. The same crew does the series. I believe the home ump goes to 3rd base the following game and the guy that umped 1st, then calls ball and strikes the next game. I'm sure somebody here will correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that's the sequence. Hope I could be of some help. Good luck to you if you post baseball picks, another tough sport like hockey..

Actually they rotate counter-clockwise. The 3b umpire today will be at hp tomorrow.

For 2nd , 3rd , and 4th games of a series you can check previous day's boxscore and then rotate counter clockwise to know where they will be.

For 1st game of a series you'll need to subscribe to sports options premium odds service to get notification. (they're an rx sponsor btw)

If you dont want to pay you can get them from the mlb web site , but they are not posted until line-up cards are exchanged , usually about 30 mins before gametime.

Thanks Ty, I knew it was something like that. I assumed they would give the guy 3rd base after home to give him an easier day..

ty, youve got it backwards. the 1b ump moves to home. rotation for ump is clockwise.

You're correct. My appologies to the op and anyone else who read the mis-information.
