I want to keep my land line, but would like to get away from using a phone company,if I can.I hear people are going with alternatives, such as Vonage,Voip or Ooma. These seem allot cheaper then your standard phone carrier.Has anyone tried one of these or any other alternatives, with positive results?

What are you wanting to get away from your phone company for and is wanting to keep the land line for the number or for what reason?

I think maybe google voice can help you out if you wanted just a secondary line people could call.. you can forward it anywhere you want and its free. :)

They nickel and dime you with every little tax and fee.Just looking to keep secondary line at minimal cost with a device that gets the job done.

It probably wont be long, that land lines will become a thing of the past, the way technology is moving these days.

Haven't had a land line in over 5 years. Only people that called me on landline were solicitors.
