For Desktops I like Dell

Not sure about the All in One.... Guess to save space
But what happens if the computer goes down ? You lose the monitor too

Seems to be the "In' thing now a days

Just go to office depot and buy one of the slightly older models, you can usually get some closeout for 3-$400 bucks.

All In Ones are great, love the touch screen, not a million wires/cords going everywhere, built in speakers, microphone, camera, windows 8 and all the great apps and updated software.

I was all against an All in One and swore I'd never get one due to loving the tower and monitor separate, I'll now never go back to a tower. I love people that say when the computer goes you have no monitor, well when your tower goes, how good does that monitor get you on the internet, oh that's right, you get out your old tower that will be slower than the grandma on the AT&T commercial.

Look at the Samsung All In Ones, this is the one I have http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Samsung...1103&st=samsung all in one computer&cp=1&lp=2

You can find better prices at Amazon, Office Depot etc like I did and they will price match it. I got mine for $899.

I am extremely happy and that takes a lot as far as computers are concerned.

Keep an eye on slickdeals.net as always - there are fewer and fewer posts about desktops, but every so often someone will find a solid deal. If you're technically inclined, putting desktop together is relatively easy, and allows for customization (not to mention a lack of bloatware).

this is the best idea to watch slickdeals.. because they always have the best finds on deals and then you can read other's comments who own the computer on sale and their experience with it.

READ REVIEWS is the best recommendation I can give before buying :toast:

i have a gigantic all-in-one touch screen

the touch screen aspect of it is NEVER used, more trouble than it's worth vs a tablet, so i would recommend against it if it costs more

Slickdeals +2 but Dell usually has really good prices. For $350 you can get a computer than 95% of the people in the world could use for 3+ years and never need to upgrade. Add $100 for a monitor and you would be set.
