[h=1]Lawsuits: More water, less buzz in Bud, Michelob beer[/h]

Beer lovers across the country have filed $5 million class-action lawsuits accusing Anheuser-Busch of watering down its Budweiser, Michelob and other brands.

The suits were filed in Pennsylvania, California and other states on behalf of consumers allegedly cheated out of the beverage's stated alcohol content. Budweiser and Michelob each boast being 5 percent alcohol, while some "light" versions are said to be just over 4 percent.

Lead lawyer Josh Boxer of San Rafael, Calif., said Tuesday the suits are based on information from former employees at some of the company's 13 U.S. breweries. Boxer said water is added just before bottling, and cuts the stated alcohol content by 3 to 8 percent.

The multinational Anheuser-Busch InBev calls the claims groundless, and says its beers fully comply with labeling laws.</article>

Every other consumer product in this country is getting smaller, so why would we think beer would be any different?

Cans of tuna? Smaller.

Spaghetti sauce? Smaller bottles.

Cake mix? Fewer dry ounces.

Cereal boxes? Much smaller.

All the same price, mind you. I can't wait until a dozen eggs means 10 eggs.

Even the European beers, in their six packs, are only 11.2 fluid ounces in each bottle. Bullshit!

So, why should Budweiser be any different? Of course they are going to get in on the raping of the consumer.

Now wait a minute, if they sell a bottle of beer and on the label it says it is 5%, if the alcohol content when measured scientifically is less that 5%, they should be liable. This is not a situation of the Helmans Mayo quietly changing the size of their contained from 32 to 30 ounces since the container says "30 ounces".

Correct. Should be a black and white issue.
