A New York police officer accused of plotting to kidnap, kill and eat women was mentored in the art of cannibalism by a British man, a court heard.
Gilberto Valle, 28, told the man he was “dying to taste some girl meat” in a series of grisly online chats.
The NYPD officer, dubbed the ‘cannibal cop’, is believed to have kept a database of at least 100 women he plotted to rape, kill and cook.
He has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to kidnap and improper use of a federal database system.
He faces a life sentence if convicted.
At his trial yesterday, Agent Corey Walsh read excerpts from emails and text messages between Valle and the British man, known as ‘MeatMarketMan’.
"I’m dying to taste some girl meat," the agent said Valle wrote.

Some passages described cooking and eating women while others were far more absurd and extreme.
Valle, from Queens, New York, claims he met friends on an extreme sexual fetish website and was merely fantasising and intended no violence.
The state prosecution called several women who were the subjects of some of the internet correspondence to testify how they knew Valle.
Kimberley Sauer told defence attorney Julia Gatto she had never felt threatened by her former college classmate.
Sauer only learned of the case after receiving a disturbing Facebook message from Valle’s wife last year, which she believed to be so absurd she thought his account had been hacked.
She texted Valle to warn him, joking "either that or you’re trying to sell me into white slavery”.
In one correspondence with MeatMarketMan, Valle suggests a woman named Kimberly, which prosecutors say is Sauer, would be easy prey because she lived alone.
"I can knock her out, wait until dark and kidnap her right out of her house," he wrote, according to prosecutors.

Agent Walsh said MeatMarketMan suggested eating their victim alive, but Valle responded: "I’m not really into raw meat."
The agent said Valle’s computer had a file titled "Abducting and Cooking Kimberly: A Blueprint," which included a photo of Sauer.
Walsh testified that the federal probe began in September after Valle’s wife, Kathleen Mangan-Valle, gave the FBI a computer Valle had used.
Walsh described communications between Valle and his co-defendant, Michael Vanhise, of New Jersey.
He said the two negotiated the price to be paid for a Manhattan teacher to be taken to New Jersey in a suitcase for Vanhise to rape and kill.
Vanhise has also pleaded not guilty. The case continues.
