Unfortunately I had my Yahoo email hacked so will have to get a new one and switch a bunch of stuff over, this website being 1 of them.

A note to everyone, make sure you know your security questions and/or have your cell attached to your email. I had the email forever and didn't have these things in place.

How do I go about doing this? I tried to and it wouldn't let me.

how did you find out that your yahoo was hacked?

a weird thing has happened to me a few times with one of my yahoo accounts. random people who i've corresponded with on yahoo over many years have suddenly gotten a mass spam email which has originated from my account. except i'm not the one who sent it and it always contains a link to some medicine website or something. they'll reply to me at that point asking me what it is and to please remove them from my list. it's really embarrassing having to write them back saying i have no idea how that email went out.

a couple of times i've also been the recipient of such an email from a person's account who i know. so it seems like it happens to many people.

You don't remember your favorite pet, TV show, or your mothers maiden name?

I have no clue what I put in there for those answers. It was a long, long time ago and I never updated it. My questions were a little more bizarre than that like who is your favorite cousin. I couldn't just type in all my cousins, I don't mind anyway. That email was always sending spam out.

Yeah this happens on yahoo way more than other accounts. It is fucked up. I'd say get a new account or change your password every 2-3 weeks.
