I was in the hole about 2 grand from playing blackjack on a horrendous run at the time and I was about to wave the white flag on the day. Left the casino a winner and happily astounded. The "bet" was dropping a sure $90 and shooting for the stars.
From a value standpoint probably a 4 figure bet in German baseball playoff game @pinnacle: Took me about 130 single (string) bets to get my money down, but they opened at -1.5 -105 and I think bet it down all the way to -3.5 -175 when the game was taken OTB for good. My own line would have been -9.5 or -10 because of mercy rules.
Game ended 13-0 after 7innings because of a mercy rule.

I've had a few...last year I went on a 78K blackjack run that I started with a $100 Bonus Play on slots from the casino. Hit for $700, walked over to BJ and over the next 10 days crushed them, coolest thing of my life. Biggest financial gain. Coolest bet was hitting a 3K 15 team teaser last year in NFL with the Ravens vs. Chargers as my last game. Ray Rice makes an impossible 1st down on 4th &29 and they win in OT. Coolest loss, missed a 16 team parlay, mixed ML and spreads for $25, paid $6,000 by one game. Had USU vs Idaho -38 as the last game, they won by 36!

can't recall the race it was part of the triple crown. I wagered on Da Tara the long shot, went $75 across the board because it was my girlfriends name damn horse went wire to wire! believe that was when big brown was the big favorite. won around $2,000.
the Open last year, had Els at x45 netted just under $2,800.
