Joe Flacco is No. 1, indeed. (USATSI)

Joe Flacco is getting paid like a top-5 quarterback. CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman and Jason La Canfora report that the Ravens and Flacco have agreed to terms. Freeman also confirms that Flacco will sign the contract Monday, and that the quarterback's average annual salary could end up in the $19.5-million range.
FoxSports.com's Jay Glazer first broke the news.
Heading into 2012, conventional wisdom had the Ravens letting Flacco, who could be equal parts brilliant and inconsistent, play out the final year of his rookie contract. Tabling negotiations until the offseason turned out to be the right move for the former first-round pick, who said last offseason that he thought he was the NFL's best quarterback. Everybody had a good laugh at the time but after a lights-out performance throughout the postseason that culminated in a Ravens championship (and Super Bowl MVP honors for the quarterback), Flacco is about to cash in on his success.
The Ravens can now turn their attention to their other soon-to-be free agents, most notably linebacker Dannell Ellerbe.

Flacco sure earned his money last season. But not sure if he is worth that much money. I wonder how much is guaranteed

Wow. Isn't the salary cap ging to be around $123 million or so for the next few years.

No matter how good a QB is, spending 1/6 of your allocated money on 1 player is risky. Still have to pay the other 54 guys.

This world has gone crazy.

One day a great quarterback will just ask for half of the salary cap and part ownership in the team.

In todays NFL, if you have just what most would consider an above average quarterback, you have to do whatever it takes to keep them.

I am in bad mood today (KKK meeting has been cancelled..Hahahaa, that was for moocow since he seems I have something to do with that filth)

The Ravens cost themselves millions of dollars by not getting this contract done before the season started.

Ha Ha Ha total joke. ravens will regret that contract. Flacco is a good QB but 19.5 per year? Good luck winning paying him that #...

now we will see how "good" flacco is with a weaker team that he will now have to carry because of his contract and not being able to afford better talent around him...
