I met with the folks down at HR Block today.

Took around 90 minutes or so but it had to be done.

I guess a better question for this forum is who won't be filling at all?

My mom does them for me...Always has....Prob. because she does it for a living yet I am always 1 of the last to get my refund.

On the negative side, my mom doesn't have my morals and won't do certain things I would

Its actually pretty easy to do your own taxes, I made so little that mine got done online for free tho since i only started work in november. Got my state refund of 40 bucks back but waiting on my federal of like 950$.

For the record everyone has an automatic extension to file for a couple of months but payment is due on the 15th i believe

I've gone over this before why I use a service. I have a rental property, bought and sold a house all in 2012 with income in multiple states.

All of this shit is complicated and I'd rather pay someone to get it right.

No doubt, they aren't charging too much and you have no stress to deal with. All I had was income and tax so it was as simple as inputting 2 numbers.

you would be surprised how simple turbo tax could make your taxes. What you just described sounded like nothing you could not have been able to do yourself online with turbotax. You are not required to know tax law with turbo tax. All you need is the ability to answer yes or no.

I had income from two states, bought a house in 2012, had business expenses etc and already got a 3500 return almost a week ago. Turbo tax is the way to go, cost me like $50 which was taken out of the return

Enfuego, listen to this man. TT is so simple stubmlb could do it with half his brain tied behind his back. It takes you through the process step for step. I bought and sold dozens of stocks, have an lic, bought a home, and many other things. All you need is your documentation and the ability to punch in numbers into a computer.

I see that ALOT of these tax places offer a "Free 2nd Look" at your taxes from the previous years.

I'm not sure how much they charge for processing this service but I would think your better off doing your taxes yourself and then just bringing them to a place for a Free 2nd Look.

i agree. Been using turbotax for years. Very easy, no matter how complicated your taxes may be. We had our direct deposit in our bank account within 10 days of filing.

w/o getting into details...

the 250.00 cost was covered within the TOTAL Audit...(20 min's into the Audit)

I guess different strokes for different folks...

For me....It's a NO Brainer...
