Now I don't care for MMA because I find it boring. I realize I'm the last one that thinks boxing is more exciting than MMA but I have a question. I caught the Struve/Hunt fight and to me this is a part of why I don't care for this sport. Struve loves being on his back trying to get in guard and it was stopped. I know Hunt throws as powerful a shot as anymore even bigger than Carwin and JDS in my opinion. That being said Struve landed on his back seemed alert and wants to be on his back. Why should he protect himself there? Hunt walked off. Why should he try and do anything? Then Herb stops the fight. It seemed extremely pre mature. I'm not saying Struve wins this fight I think he was clearly well behind but why are you stopping it and taking that small chance from him? Also, another reason I find this sport boring is did anyone really watch the fight. From about 2 minutes in to ROUND 2 they were gassed. I get that they are heavyweights and shouldnt be in tip top shape but that shit was fucking pathetic. BTW had no money on MMA and Silva/Stann was way better than any boxing match I saw this weekend just looking for other thoughts.

Weezy,

I did not know at the time, but it was annouced later in the evening that the referee was urging Struve to continue, but he did not because of a broken jaw, which why I assume he didn't contest the stoppage. Still odd for Hunt to simply walk away, I know he has confidence in his incredible power, but he didn't know Struve's jaw was broken at the time.

GL with your action.

Hunts signature move has been to walk away. I don't agree with it , but that fight was over. See the pic of Struve holding his lip to say his jaw is broke.

thanks for the help guy. I had no idea his jaw was broken, which I probably should have thought of considering how many huge shots he took.

When Mark Hunt knocked out Stefan Struve at UFC on Fuel 8 over the weekend, Hunt did more than post his fourth straight win. He also earned a $50,000 Knockout of the Night bonus and broke Struve's jaw.
