Danica Patrick started way back in the field today in the Subway 500 in Phoenix Arizona. She really could not make up any positions but was steady chalking up laps. She was still in a steady run when a cut right front tire voulted her car head first into the wall and the ricochet down back towards the bottom of the track only left her getting hammered by a passing driver in the driver's side door. Patrick's car was ruined and even though she looked like she shook it off farily well it may have shook her up more than she lead on. Patrick more than likely would not have a banner day in comparison to last week but if she had continued on her pace in all likelyhood she would have finished in tact. As it was, a cut tire took it's toll and Patrick survives a major bump up.
Not a bad finish today at Phoenix with Carl Edwards with the win and Johnson and Hamlin going all out for second respectively. I love it when Edwards does that cool backflip from his car after a win and the fans who witness it in person receive a real treat. The win could not have been more timely for Edwards who was in the worst drought of his career and after wrecking five cars last week during Daytona Speed Weeks. Edwards has to be thinking the sun finally shown down through my front door. Actually Patrick was further up in the field than I thought when she wrecked but in most likelyhood too far back to have been a factor against the main players as passing and gaining track position was difficult at best.
