To avoid hijacking the swingers thread, I'll start a new one. What is our purpose on the planet in your opinion?

What is your stance Enfuego. That we are simply here to die and be buried, nothing more, nothing less?

I don't have an opinion. I don't know what our purpose is. I don't think anyone knows for sure.

If it did, what would you tell him?

It depends on which one of my three is asking as they are all different ages and intellect.

But...I'd ask them their opinion. I'm not here to tell them the reason I think they are here. It's up to them to explore in some thougt and come to their own conclusions.

I think telling a child that we're all just here until we die is burdening on them. The best thing is to tell them you don't know and that's it.

I really wonder what would happen if they did some kind of experiment to raise children on an island cut off from society and never mention God or anything supernatural about life.

Hard to say, i'd like to think there is more. Can't prove that there isn't ~ cant prove there is. But I'm not up for dying to find out just yet.

I don't have kids maybe in a few years.

What you're doing is right. You could argue anything at a young age is considered indoctrination. Honestly, I think being told about God or heaven is life changing. It's hard to shake off after you get older.

I think the best approach is to let kids explore the possibilities themselves and come to their own conclusions.
