Meet Flamy the mascot. This mascot goes around a hospital in Brazil to cheer up childeren who are burn victims.

A mascot with flames around it's head doesn't seem very appropriate in these circumstances...

Story with photo is as follows:

Whoever came up with the bright idea for "Flamy" the burn unit mascot likely had their heart in the right place.

But yikes! This guy is surely the last thing burned children wants to see while recovering from their injuries.

This is the kind of mascot that seems to ensure that, long after a patient's physical wounds heal, "Flamy" will still be there to haunt their dreams for eternity.

Buzzfeed reports that dearest "Chaminha" -- as he's called in Portuguese -- is the mascot at the Fundaçao Hospitalar in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Several hospitals in the area use "Flamy" to teach kids how to avoid flammable material and how to treat burns.

To be fair, there is no shortage of bad and/or poorly conceived mascots, as Bleacher Report documents. But surely "Flamy" is one of the most venue-inappropriate mascots of all time.

That said, as you can see from the photo below, there is at least one child who is not noticeably scared to be around him.
