Anyone else who's seen this yet with opinions?

Saw it this weekend and thought it was better than I originally thought it would be.

The effects are are excellent, James Franco plays a good leading role, and the story sets things up nicely for how The Wizard Of Oz came about.

I rank it 7 out of 10

the movie looked really good in imax, but felt it was way too long. would imagine it felt even longer in non-imax.

michelle williams is so smoking hot. she is beautiful.

Did it really? Holy crap. This song looks awful. Too much CGI can take you out of it.

Saw it a few days ago - it was worth seeing, but I didn't like it much. Felt like it was stuck somewhere between a kid's movie and a darker adult film, and it ended up not doing either particularly well. Witches were all pretty poorly acted, and it did feel long. Great effects though, and I thought it was the rare film to use 3D well.

I liked it.. thought it was family friendly enough to take the kids.. but also had enough excitement with the monkeys involved and all the 3D eye-gasms puff_>>

Expect it to break some records I would imagine :toast:

Movie should have been a 10 but its a 9 overall and that ain't bad. Wish they got someone other than Franco for Oz, not that he was bad necessarily but he doesn't look right as the face of Oz imo. Mila K was great in first half but not so sure about 2nd half - avoiding spoiler here. No matter worth seeing and okay for kids - no blood and violence is cartoonish.
