What is your car insurance deductible?

My wife has backed into my car...double whammy!

Our deductible is 1,000 for each of our vehicles but I'm not even sure what it is going to take to fix the damages.

What is your deductible and why did you choose it?

$500 currently, but when I was younger I had it at $250 to limit the amount of out of cash expense...

Higher deductible = lower monthly payments. I have $250 for our cars and $1000 for the house.

Mine is 1000 as well. I have it high to save money but still cover the car if it's totaled.

I have a variable deductible.
If I dont get in an wreck its $10000
If I do get in a wreck it adjust to $0

Never did the car insurance thing.

I am a good driver even when drunk (don't do that much anymore). It has saved me thousands and thousands of dollars.

My thought process is basically if i get in a car wreck which even if I was a crap driver, say is once a year. It will likely be a fender bender and the deductable will be more than the repair.

Rip me all you want but it has worked great so far
