If this is true, that is a big deal. Peyton knows how to use those type of guys and with deep threats....Oh boy

Makes sense for Broncos. Go for it in the next 2 years because you will suck again when Peyton retires like I figured the colts would unlesss they got ungodly "Lucky"

I miss Peyton. Colts have a great young quarterback but Peyton was something that was a little different...A certain naive quality to him.....He was once chosen to do the flag thing at the Indy 500 and his words made it sound like he was excited by getting a boner about "raising the flag"...Can't remember exactly but it was funny when he was quoted on radio...

I stand corrected (from the previous thread).

This sucks. Pats pay him 9m last season, but don't want to shell out 12m for two?

POWER move by Denver. That was so sick of them to weaken NE and strengthen themselves at the same time.

However I highly doubt NE had a chance to re-sign Welker for what Denver paid. He obviously wasn't thrilled with his treatment over the last 2-3 years. It is always easier for athletes to take less $ elsewhere than the place they played in. Enjoyed his time on NE and 1 of the best Pats ever.

no he went back to the pats for the chance to match and they said no. their final offer was rumored to be 2 for 10 + incentives

if NE doesnt have something BIG planned this is a fu-king travesty

wow what a nice move by Denver. I thought this may have been a ploy by welkers and his agent to get the pats to blink and up their offer. guess not :howdy:

I wonder if Welker can cover J. Jones streaking down the sideline at the end of a playoff game.

There is a report by Tom Curran that Brady was beyond enraged. Over the Pats not signing wes. He took a pay cut so the pats would sign wes.

he should be. cheap and petty fukin organization. pulled the same shit last time tom re-did his deal, and then wouldnt pay deion branch and tom had to throw to reched caldwell in the afc title game. not signing branch and vinatieri cost them at LEAST one super bowl. they have wasted way too many of brady's years.

felger and mazz spent the whole show today talking about him, if he would stay or go etc and they made the best point after the details came out. it would have been better if they just didnt offer him a contract. if they just wished him well and said we are going in a different direction, best of luck.

how can you offer him 2 for 10 and you cant pony up 1million more a season to keep him a patriot?!?! from 5million to 6 million, come on! especially after he gets denver offer and turns around and takes it to the patriots b/c he wants to stay here. its less than 1% of their salary cap. brady restructures to save them millions and they cant bump up their offer 1 to keep him. the whole situation makes no sense whatsoever.

if denver had offered 2 for 18 or something like that then i could see them saying no its too high etc but 2for10+ incentives and 2 for 12 and he's gone. i dont blame brady for being disgusted
