Seems a lot of people have different opinions of the schools they went too, private vs public, and obviously location makes it all different...

I missed 99 days my sophomore year and had all A's and 1 F in English because my teacher was a gay black dude who said he would fail me if I continued to miss school. Made it up in summer school. Had all honors classes the whole way and it was a joke. They hardly taught anything.

I changed HS half way through junior year. New HS was way more focused on education, huge step up from my first one. Yet I missed class about 3-4 days a week junior & senior year. Most of the time I stayed in the PE area and played basketball or football. So I was at school just not in class. My report card had a total # of absences at the end of the year. I remember a few classes had around 100 absences and another had like 12 :):)still graduated with a solid 3.0 All 'B's. I was immature at the time and did not care too much for school. If I could do it over I would do it different and actually try to learn something. I think I still have the report card, if I can find it I will post it

Changed HS after 9th grade and found how bad my old school system was. I was on the advanced track, but still behind in some subjects.
I'd say a B for my 10-12th grade experience

:)!/Graduated salutatorian - was woefully unprepared for college despite being enrolled in all honors classes. I adjusted, but it tOok some time. I expected it be as easy as HS was - it wasn't obviously.

At My HS I think it was 10 missed days in a semester, your parent had to come in and talk with the school trust board to see if you should stay in school or be sent to an alternative school

I went to a private school which would have been a great thing if i went to a liberal arts college. I went to an engineering college and was not as prepared as those that went to a public hs

10th and 11th grade i never had a book or a pencil once. They would have locker inspections and i wouldnt even know the combination, never opened the thing even once. 12th grade same thing until i got my 30th something tardy. My mom went to the school and the principal told her he couldnt let me continue to get away with it because other students were complaining. They cut a deal....i stay away from the school and he would pass me! Mom came home told me just stay home on the days i didnt get there ontime...I thought i was dreaming!!

I naturally regret all this now but at that time i thought i had it made...............

I went to a small country high school. I think it did a good job based on how my friends and I did in college.

I have a real hard time believing either of these two statements.

Bring your textbook to my class is mandatory every day.

Also, why would a principal risk his job for you to not come to school!?

I graduated hs in 2002. Our school gave you a set of books to leAve at home and there were a set of books that stayed in the classrooms. We didn't have lockers

I graduated in 1973, long before the technology era began and things were much different then than they are now I'm sure. Was a relatively small school from small town(we had about 270 in my senior class). I didn't go to college and yet I have worked for 3 different companies ranked in top 75 of fortune 500 companies(Coca-Cola, Pfizer and presently DuPont) during my lifetime. So, I would have to say my high school did pretty well to prepare me for the workplace and my future life...

Went to private school for sports and the whole school/team was under scholarship which is why the school went out of business this past year. When I look back, my dad says I was the only family paying tuition but I do have 4 state rings to show for it. Education was no good either and I have always thought public school is much better for education. Both private schools I went to were kids who got in trouble at home or got kicked out of public school. I went to Texas tech where I got a double major and it was kind of like an extended high school. Boy do I miss it!!!!! Kids will go to public for sure..

What high school? The private schools around here are great for education and somewhat of a joke in sports. I mean they usually have one or two players that are pretty good, but the overall teams are laughable from what I've noticed......
