Would you Rather Make More Money, Or be happy?

I switched careers last year in August. I was doing something that I hated, although it paid right at six figures. I got into sales because I thought it was I would enjoy it, knowing that I would be starting over salary wise. Old job I was kind of maxed out at around 100k. If I get good at sales, the sky is the limit. Right now the pay isn't close to what I am used to, but I could possibly be earning triple that 100k in a few years. So the question is, would you rather hate your job and make 100k. Or start a new job that you love, but you are going to have to prove yourself to get back to that 100k with the possibility of going way over that?

More money as it can buy a lot of things that can make me happy. However if you can handle the temporary downturn in income but have the confidence to make it back & then some, go for the temporary reduction.

Easy answer rather be happy.

If your unhappy in life before you have money, then chances are you will still be unhappy when you have lots of money.

I used to believe money can buy happiness, trust me it cant. I just wish i would have learned that 30 years ago

For me it's a no-brainer, be happy.
Quit my job in January 2011 because I hated what I was doing and finally I got to a point where I was wondering, why I actually did nothing to change that even though I spent like 10-12hrs daily (so about 50% of my time, esp. if you took commuting to and from work into account) for something I hated....best decision I ever made, even more so since I spent way less money nowadays since I also got my values/priorities in life straightened out.
Don't miss any of the stuff I got rid off, spend more time with friends and at the beach and just enjoy life way more than a couple of years ago.

Money gives you the opportunity to do things you otherwise might not be able to do, but the most precious thing in life money just can't buy (time spent with family & friends, or in short: memories).

Be happy, when you are happy at work the money will just come naturally.

Find something you enjoy and you'll never work a day in your life. The money is just a bonus for showing up Mon-Fri. Your happiness is everything in life.

There is nothing worse then going to a job every day that you hate. Do what makes you happy.

After the last few years of my life I am more than willing to trade some of my happiness for some money. How about just half of the money owed to me. That alone would make me very happy.

Maybe it's "selling out" but I'd take the money and even if "how" I made that money made me miserable I would convince myself that I was setting up my future.
