I've met Walter Peyton, Dr. J, Elvin Hayes, Barry Switzer and a few other famous sports figures in person. I have no interest at all in meeting movie stars or politicians.

Not a starstruck type of guy myself. They are just people in my eyes.

Actually going to Florida State to talk ball with their coaches tom. I'm sure we will run into some of their star players and talk with Coach Fisher. I just enjoy being around people with similar interests and motivations.

Unbeleiveable grown men are star struck. Not a shock with some in this group though.

I respect few athletes but even if I saw those few, I would not be starstruck. They are just guys that have been genetically blessed.

I would want to talk to past heads of state though....I mean; real heads of state, not the ones now.

There are plenty here in Atlanta between athletes and mostly in the music business to the point it is like ok, great, whatever...Even when I was in Las Vegas last month Dog the Bounty Hunter was walking through the casino.......Coolest one I liked was Bob Baffert after meeting him right after a horse race in DelMar, California, but I was more happy with him cause his horse just made me some money...

it's quite easy to say that you would just walk right past them without thinking twice. but when david hasselhoff walked right past me in vegas a couple years ago, i went "wow that's david hasselhoff", kind of catches you by surprise.

not that the OP was talking about going ga-ga or anything, just a neat thing to see someone famous when you don't expect it.

there is no rule that once you hit the age of 18, you can't like or dislike certain people based on their tv image, athleticism, whether or not they made you money, etc

I have met many, many celeb over the years and for the most part have enjoyed it as a fun thing to do, kinda like sightseeing.
BUT only one time was I really startstruck, and so was everyone else who was there as well.

That celeb was THE FONZ! Henry Winkler.

In my business I have met many wealthy, powerful people ... I can honestly say I have never been start struck. I will say Bill Gates will try to intimidate everyone in a room, even if they are wealthy and powerful themselves. They still are not his kind of wealth and power. He walks around and talks to people in bits of conversations...then dismisses them like they are nothing when he is done with what he wanted to say. It was kind of funny to watch.

Wow youve met Bill Gates numerous times?

Only once, the company I was with was doing a bond offering for a hospital that his wife was on the board of. I went to a meeting of the board and the different heads of the departments etc. He was there with her and I was introduced, nothing more than a 1 second hand shake. But I was able to watch him interact with these people for two hours. Very interesting because these board members were all pretty wealthy themselves, but nothing like him. They were always a little smug to me in meetings leading up to this as I was putting the financing package together. It was funny to see them treated that way.
