LOL

Is this a joke? Is anyone watching Duke/Creighton? I don't watch many of these games but my friend said Duke 2nd half was a lock so I'm watching it.

here are my observations

1. The commercials are ok. I mostly just see them since by the time the game gets back on I miss it then when I get back to watching it is another commercial.
2. I think it is great they stop the game every 30 seconds to let the coaches talk to the players or to let us see more commercials. I wouldn't want anyone to get tired.

This is fucking awful. Are all the games like this now? Small sample size but god damn.

Yes, all games are like this. T.V. timeout every 4:00 plus timeouts and halftime.

Even when there isn't a timeout though they go to huddle with the coaches. I can't remember it being this bad. I watched last 15 mins of this Creighton/Duke and bet looks good to cash so thats cool but I can't imagine how anyone without $ could find this entertaining.

Again my observation is just from trying to watch.

I'd watch CBB 99 out of 100 over the NBA except when we get to the NBA playoffs.

Agreed NBA playoffs is awesome and unless you got $ on reg season then yeah why watch? Definitely.

Small sample but its like I'm trying to watch this game and it is like watching a football game with how many timeouts/20 second timeouts/stoppages in between possessions.

No wonder some of the games are so disjointed, how the fuck you build a rhythm with so many stoppages in a high intensity big atmosphere game like the tourney?

Te best basketball Ive seen was the Olympic basketball. No bullshit, just game. It gives you a glimpse of what sports would be like without all the commercialization.

NBA game is 48 mins and takes an average of 138 real time mins to play.
College 40 mins and takes an average of 124 real time mins to play.

Not much difference between the 2.

These are unquestionably the greatest 4 days of the year.

People talk about the forced TO's in college of u16, 12, 8, and 4.
The NBA has the same thing.
Under 6, and one more before the end of the quarter. Plus the end of the quarter which college does not have.

Then you do it all over again in the next 3 quarters.

I can watch football, baseball, and golf without having money on it. No chance in hell I cancel my wkd plans to watch hoops at any level without having some cash on the line. Just not my thing

This means 38% of the time spent watching an NBA game will be spent watching basketball. 32% of the time watching a CBB game will be spent watching basketball and I'd think for the tourney it is even a little less, the commercials are maybe longer? I dunno.

LIke I said small sample size from me watching Duke/Creighton, I just thought it sucked how long it took.

I like the 2nd weekend way better. Getting from 64 teams to 16 doesn't do much for me, thins the herd so you can actually watch better basketball the next weekend rather than teams try to launch 29 foot 3s vs superior athletes to luckbox their way to victory. To each their own though....

I always thought there was too much stoppage of play in ncaab(recent?). 20 min halves should not take upwards of an hour to complete unless its a closely contested second half with fouls and such.

The media timeouts are still the same, every 4 minutes. However... During tourney they go to commercial virtually every time out, even if 30 seconds, which is what makes it brutal.

Makes sense, I knew there was something more to it regarding tourney games that people weren't pointing out, just didn't feel like looking it up.

For anyone who loves college basketball so much that they can sit through that many stoppages in play and see that much advertising then well...more power to them!
