I know nothing about this Iowa team....

UVA truly blows my mind that they have the record they do... they made JPJ arena a special place, 20-0 at home.... Coach bennett gets all the credit in my mind for this team success this year. It's all about the system they play because they are young and not overwhelmed with talent. That hardnose half court defense will slow down anyone. If Iowa has trouble scoring at times, it's probably a bad match up for them. UVA 4th in the nation in defense, allowing just 55 ppg, even more impressive is their .385 defensive FG percentage...

Most surprising thing about UVA is their ability to shoot the 3. Harris is a 43% 3 point shooter on the year, and Nolte is just under 40%...

They have a star in the making in Justin Anderson. The kid is crazy athletic but lacks a jump shot. I think the system at UVA is actually holding him back... but without knowing Iowa, my guess he is the most talented kid on the floor....

Although from VA, I don't claim them as my team. I use to root against them, but in the last 7+ years VA Tech exploded and so now UVA is the 2nd team in the area, and assumed the underdog role, so I find myself rooting for them more...

I'm ODU Alum so that's my college team.... but we were so dreadful this year, I followed VCU more....

And as far as Iowa goes...many say they may be a front team contender next year in the Big 10 fwiw.

I couldn't bet vs. Virginia at home this year but..........

Iowa has been the No. 1 wager in college basketball this season with a 22-9 record ATS (against the spread). That hasn't stopped oddsmakers from giving them points tonight, though.

Iowa is a 4.5-point underdog at Virginia tonight in the NIT quarterfinals, a role they've relished lately. The Hawkeyes are 6-1 ATS in their last seven games as dogs, despite the fact they went just 1-6 SU (straight up) during the stretch. In their last four games as dogs, the Hawkeyes have covered lines of 10, 8.5, 13.5 and 6.

Iowa is primarily covering spreads with its stingy defense. The Hawkeyes are 15th in the country in opponent field goal percentage (38.8 percent) and ninth in opponent three point percentage (29.1 percent).
