A 55-year-old Connecticut man was arrested after he allegedly threw a sandwich at a pregnant McDonald’s employee because he didn't like how it was made, police said.
Police responded to the fast-food restaurant on Black Rock Turnpike in Fairfield after receiving a 911 call about an out-of-control man at the drive-through window, authorities said.
Police said Geoffrey Weglarz, of Fairfield, placed an order at the drive-up window, drove away, then returned to complain about his sandwich and banged on the front door, which was locked, police said.
When an employee told Weglarz he could not enter the restaurant, he allegedly walked back to the drive-through window, screamed and swore at the pregnant female manager and then threw the bag of food through the drive-up window, hitting the manager in her chest, police said.
Weglarz allegedly continued to yell and bang on the window until the manager told her staff to call police, at which point Weglarz drove off in his white BMW, police said.
Employees had jotted down the registration plate and officers went to Weglarz’s home, where he was taken into custody and charged with breach of peace. Officers found a loaded Glock pistol in his waistband, but Weglarz produced a valid Connecticut pistol permit, police said.
Police processed Weglarz at the police station, then released him and seized weapons and ammunition from his house, as well as a pistol permit, which will be sent to the state firearms review board.
Weglarz is next due in court April 9. It wasn't clear if he had an attorney.
