Supposedly the guy is going to serve life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Why do we still have a death penalty? If this crime isn't bad enough to warrant a death sentence than what crime is?

Hard to believe.

1 cop gets killed they seek the death penalty , 22 movie goers get killed and it's let's save taxpayers monies.

I've always been "kinda" on the fence about capitol punshment , in principle i'm probably against it , but then again in certain situations it seems right. This would definately be a time that it seems right.

If they don't apply it here , they ought to just do away with it.

I think HE offered them a plea deal, not the other way around?

that would be my guess, guy offers to make government's job easy if they spare him is life....

Given the choice of Life, no parole, or death penalty, I would personally choose death and I value life quite a bit..

Yeah, me personally? I'd probably be fucked in prison (pardon the awful pun) - so I'd plea all day. Wonder if they'll take the deal, to avoid having to argue that he's sane?

I'm uncomfortable with the government-sanctioned killed of the mentally disturbed, no matter how heinous their crime.

I'm also uncomfortable with people's tax dollars being used to house this guy for the next 40 years.

I'm just going to pray to Zeus that he somehow commits suicide to make me happy.

So you are not ok with killing him and you are not ok with keeping him in jail. So what do you suggest we do with him since he will obviously not kill himself since that is not his MO...

I say let the families of the victims decide - guilt has already been established...the only thing they could claim is insanity. If a judge sees him mentally fit give him over to them.

Like they would ever let him have a public trial anyway. People find out hes on Govt issued Psych drugs and is an Islamist ....How would that fit in with the Ban all Guns agenda??????

There's no perfect solution, though it's obvious he needs to be permanently separated from society.

By the time all trials, evaluations, appeals all the way to US Supreme Court; it will be another 10 years and 10 million dollars until he would fry..>>better to let him plead and move on..>>
