Early for tomorrow

DETROIT -1.5 -120

24 to win 20

Gimme the Tigers line-up behind Verlander against the Twins and Vance Worley... seems too good to be true but I can't pass it up.

SEATTLE/OAKLAND UNDER 6.5 -110

11 to win 10

King Felix against Brett Anderson in the pitcher friendly park. I like playing unders early in the year as I think offenses havn't found their groove yet and theres always the cold weather (not applicable here obviously). I also like Seattle to win this one but I missed out and the line has dropped to -105 at my book but if you can get it + money I say go for it for a unit.

Washington -1.5 -120

36 to win 30

Steven Strasburgh gets the ball for the Nats on opening day and gets the pleasure of facing the new look Miami Marlins who may very well be the worst team in all of baseball after shipping off most of their relivant talent in the offseason. The Marlins are young, inexperianced and the ageless wonder Placido Polanco is slated to hit cleanup for the Marlins tomorrow. Can't see Strasburgh running into too many bumps in this line up and they will get enough runs to cover the spread.

San Fransisco +145

20 to win 29

Lots of hype around this Dodger team this year but I'm gonna play it as a wait and see approach. They have not played much together yet and these things take time to gel. Clayton Kershaw is on a contract year and I think he'll be lights out this season and will back the dodgers plenty when he toes the rubber but on opening day I'll take Matt Cain and the Giants that have done this all before at the good price.

May add tomorrow! Hope everyone is enjoying opening night!

I like Hamels in this spot. He had a phenominal spring this season with 3 wins a 0.95 ERA and 15 Ks in his 19 IP. He seems poised to show everyone that he is still one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. These two teams will very likely be battling for the division this season and it starts tonight.

San Fran -105

21 to win 20

I like going with Mad-Bum here. The giants offense was anemic yesterday against Kershaw. His fastball was live and his curve was in mid season form and he was pretty much unhittable. Today they face Ryu in his first MLB game after pitching in Korea the rest of his career. I like the leftie matchup against the dodgers as a lot of their good bats hit from the left side. Probably another low scoring one here.

Milwaukee UNDER 8 +105

20 to win 21

This is more of a cold weather play that anything. Its currently 27 degrees Fahrenheit but it feels more like 18 with the wind chill. Thats cold...and by game time it'll be even colder. It is always to the pitchers advantage when its this cold out. Milwaukees line-up doesn't strike fear into other teams like it used to. Outside of Braun, Ramirez and Weeks (ovverated IMO) I just dont see where this team is going to score lots of runs.

Arizona UNDER 9 +100

20 to win 20

Over the last 8 meetings between these two clubs, the total has gone over 9 just twice dating back to last year. Garcia and Cahill are underrated number 2 starters and both have the stuff to shut down to opposition at any given time. I look for a closer game than we saw last night.

Tampa Bay -1.5 +125

10 to win 12.5

David Price had a pretty good spring posting a 2.12 ERA with 20Ks in just 17 IP. He is poised to be a Cy-Young candidate yet again this season even though his offense is maybe not as good as it was in years past. Joe Maddon seems to find away to manufacture runs and keep this team winning games no matter who is in the line-up. I look for Baltimore to take a step back this season and it starts today.

Blue Jays UNDER 8.5 -105

31.5 to win 30

Justin Masterson and his Sinker gave the Jays fits last year posting a 1-0 record with a 0.60 ERA in two starts. Combine that with Dickeys knuckleball and I dont see how this game can get highscoring. The one thing that worries me here is that Arencibia has only had the spring to see Dickeys knuckler and i hope that errors and pass balls dont affect the outcome. Hopefully my Jays get this year started off right with a 4-2 kinda win!

Good luck with your plays today everyone!

Talk about two pitchers who aren't what they used to be. Lincecum used to be a cy young candidate year after year and Beckett was one of the most feared pitchers in all of baseball. Now they are both middle to back of the rotation guys who can still be effective but certainly aren't in the same class as some of the great pitchers in baseball which is why the number 7 is key. The total was 7 in the opener for Seattle/Oakland when it was Hernandez against Anderson in a big ball park. These offenses definatly have more than enough pop to put up runs and these pitchers have been known to leave balls over the plate and give up the longball. This is my favorite play on the board today.

Detroit UNDER 8.5 -110

11 to win 10

Another cold day in Minny today with the game time temp expected to be around 36 degrees. Anibal Sanchez had a pretty average year last year posting a 9-13 record with an ERA of 3.86 but he gets a break with this Minny line-up who if he can avoid giving up hits to Mauer, Willingham and Morneau theres really not much there. On the other side we have Kevin Correia who comes to Minny after spending his whole career in the NL. Outside of Fielder (25 ABs) and Cabrera (19 ABs) the rest of the team has very limited amounts of ABs against him (39 total). If these guys can keep the ball in the yard I see another 4-2 or 4-3 kinda game.

Toronto -1.5 +105

20 to win 21

Lets call this the knuckleball effect. In starts after Dickey last year the Mets went 18-16 with a 2.32 ERA. Bringing in the fireballer after seeing the knuckleballer clearly has an effect on timing and hiting. Enter Brandon Morrow. He's been the real ace on this Blue Jays team for the last couple of seasons. He averages over a strikeout per inning over the past three seasons and that number could climb this year. This potent Jays line up will bounce back tonight after the disappointing opening night.

Boston +105

20 to win 21

My how the Bronx Bombers have fallen... Outside of Cano, Nunez and Gardiner the Yanks are full of average players (youkilis, overbay, wells, etc.). This will change if and when we see the returns of Granderson, Jeter, A-rod, and Texeira but for now it seems like its time to fade. Bucholtz has an above average arm who throws strikes and can definatly get these guys out. Cano has hit 12/25 against Clay for a .480 AVG but he cannot do it alone. Sox make it two in a row.

Washington -1.5 -125

25 to win 20

Its Gio Gonzalez's turn to have a go at this pathetic Marlins line-up. Strasburgh and the pen held this Marlins line-up to just 3 hits on Monday and Bryce Harper hit two solo homers to win 2-0. I just dont see how Miami is going to manufacture runs this year with the line-up they're gonna put out there every day. Gio throws a gem today and hopefully more than Harper get involved for the Nats and it should be an easy win.

That will be it for the day! Fade of follow good luck today everyone!

I take it back! One more play:

Philadelphia/Atlanta OVER 7 -110

33 to win 30

Hallidays last 4 starts vs ATL: 17 2/3 IP, 30 hits, 22ER

Malholms last 3 vs PHI: 18 1/3 IP, 26 hits, 16 ER

Plenty of pop in both line-ups.. seems like a no brainer

Best of luck!
