OK, it's a bit harsh after only 3+ innings in his first game on the road. However, this performance was poor by a normal pitcher standpoint. But compared to Halladay of a couple of years ago...yowwzzaa! Big drop in command, control and a few miles an hour off his fastball. Looks like the book on Halladay for hitters now says to wait for the Halladay heat and then just jam it yard.
Read a really good article today from a sportswriter (can't find it to post) predicting that Halladay is off his game this season. A nagging injury happened last season and just wouldn't go away. It had a particular effect on his fastball.
As a result, I got ATL today at a great price...hope the game holds.
You gotta downgrade the Philly season a bit right now, imo until Halladay gets back home and pitches or it gets a bit warmer. But there will be value betting against Halladay early in this season... for a least the next 5 or 6 starts until the public realizes they are now NOT getting normal Halladay value. Definitely less RL bets on him as I am not sure he can dominate enough again to warrant a run line play.
BOL everyone!
