Looking at the forecast for tonight April 4th 2013 in Atlanta, periods of rain will be present with temps in the low 40's and winds gusting over 15 mph. The Atlanta Announcers said last night poor weather may be in store for tonight so at least we were warned ahead of time. The Braves are looking for a sweep over the Phillies but instead of brooms in the stands they may need mops. Look for a possible postponement, maybe a best case of several delays or a possible abbreviated game tonight in Atlanta. I have some information on Medlin vs Lee but will be back later with the numbers.

Weather pending tonight in Atlanta, Medlin and Lee will square off on the mound as the Braves look for a sweep of Philadelphia. Medlin was 10-1 1.57 ERA and at one point 9-0 .97 ERA in 12 games for Atlanta in 2012 leading up to the end of the season but did not start vs. Philadelphia in this matchup last year and only worked three innings in relief vs Philadelphia Hitting where he gave up three Earned Runs. Medlin most recently in Spring Training was 1-2 7.23 ERA in six starts but his last two outings in only ten Innings Pitched gave up 15 runs and 22 hits. Lee was 3-1 .95 ERA last five in this matchup for Philadelphia only allowing 3 BB's and chalking up 37 K's vs Braves hitting. Overall Lee had a 1.80 ERA vs. Braves in 2012 and held Braves Team Hitting to .234. Lee only received an average of 3.2 runs of support in his outings last year which ranked fourth worse among starting pitchers and in which Philadelphia scored two or fewer in 18 of his 30 starts. Lee also coughed up 26 HR's in 2012. Atlanta has plated 16 runs in two games with 6 HR's but have 24 K's. Ryan Howard is 0-8 so far in this series but is 4 for 7 with two HR's vs. Medlin. Lee can be effective tonight as evident from his past performances in this matchup vs. Atlanta Hitting but will have to get run support that was absent from last year. Source: ESPN MLB Preview

Nothing new. It was raining last night all game as well. Be raining all day too. Torn on this game, but I think Atlanta could sweep if the game is played.

Atlanta has been getting the runs in but I think Lee may be the toughest and has the most success most recently of Philadephia starters vs. Braves. Medlin may still be on shaky ground coming out of Spring Training. If conditions worsen, errors may come into play and no way to predict which side will benefit off a mishap. We have NYY vs. Boston as backup if Atlanta game is postponed.

Think the Freedie Freeman Show is the difference here. Thought of playing Boston small for the sweep as well. Fellow Gamecock Jackie Bradley Jr. has me watching the BoSox a lil more. Was nice to see him get his first MLB hit last night, and an RBI to boot. He has scored like 4x and walked a few as well. I will prob watch a little of that game as well, but my go to on thurs nights lately when it's on is Bellator. Def a stay in night. I am sickely as well. Sucks....Good luck in whatever you decide to play, and enjoy the games...

I thought Bradley's plate discipline was key to BoSox opening day win and enjoyed seeing the young man get his first big league hit last night. Freeman and God Bless Him is either feast or famine some weeks. He either goes 8 for 12 with a few doubles, 6 RBI's and a HR or two in a three game set or goes 1 for 12 with a single. Freeman although is on the upswing right now and along with Heyward who has some success against Lee in the past might be the ones to take Lee deep if he loses his location. I still look for Lee to chalk up some major K's tonight by his numbers vs. Braves in past. All in all I like Freeman as a ballplayer, just hard to peg at times.

He is. But, you have to keep in mind that he battled some weird injuries at first (finger and eyes), but now is suppose to be over that and ready to roll. It appears so as of now. Coach Walker calls him the best Talent he has ever Coached. We shall see, but I think he keeps up the slugfest. A lot see the Uptons and Heyward, I see Freeman and Simmons.

That Gaddis guy is a story. Worked every job imaginable and now catches in the big leagues and hits a HR with his family in attendance. I always thought David Ross was a fine backup for McCann but management or other factors said otherwise. Is Beachy still with the Braves? How about Jurrgens? Heinske? I think I remember where they dealt Hanson and of course Bourn but the Uptons were the big story. I hope Bourn can bring some success to Cleveland as I thought he was a fine lead off man. McClouth is also a guy who I wished would have stayed. I was kinda indifferent on Prado. I was always a Brooks Conrad man. Conrad would have been a good Marine.

Well game under way and no rain so far just cold. Medlen spells his name with two e's and not with an i as I posted above. My apologies to the Atlanta Pitcher. Phillies leave bases loaded in the first. If it does start to rain as cold as it is it will be miserable for players and fans.

Game going into the fifth with Philadelphia up 2-0. Pace kinda slow tonight but not a bad little game. Toronto Cleveland went from something like 3-1 to 3-3 to 6-3 to 6-6 now. Think I might see how that one shakes out too.

Should of played the under. Had a feeling the ball wouldn't fly. Good game. The Toronto game is a high scorer.
