In summation, a guy who works for me on occasion was picked up a few days ago on two counts of distribution of a controlled substance. I would of never guessed he would have been involved with drugs. I am trying to find out what kind of drugs and what the circumstances were. The only thing I have found so far has been extremely vague.

Sometimes it won't list the drug, it will only list the Schedule type the drug is classified under. But, the info is easy to find. I take it he was already released from jail?

Yes, he is out on 30k bond currently. All I know is that the charges are a class B felony.

Class B is somewhat serious. Grouped with manslaughter, rape, etc. carries definite prison sentence of 2-20 yrs. now if a weapon was also in possession, it can go to a minimum of 10 years. If he's got a clean record, he may be able to take PTI and a lot of community service. He looking at a good little chunk in lawyer fees though.

I could just call him and ask him directly, but I have my reasons for not wanting too. I do know he doesn't have the money for an attorney and may not have a completely clean record. He was in the middle of a custody battle for his 3 kids too. Sucks, but I am reserving judgement till all the facts come out. Do you know why he would have two separate charges?

Each count means a different alleged crime was committed. 1 count be distribution, the other could be distribution within a mile of a school, or along those lines...

This info is usually publically accessible online. We recently had a secretary/runner get a DUI and she brought it up first thing Monday morning. Got fired but I was able to look up her mugshot and charges then and there. But it looks like you already know the basic info. Not sure they'll go into detail on what specific drugs the charges were for (unless a cop or prosecutor told you unofficially).

Is there any truth to being able to go to the sheriffs office and pick up a copy of it for $5 or whatever?

If you know the Schedule of the drug charged, you can just about tell which one. Most likely pharmies, and it was just simply weed, it was a good bit then for sure.

Don't know the schedule...I am pretty sure it was Loritab or something like that. A local detective basically told they are ignoring MJ unless it is a huge quantity - said we are covered with cocaine, heroin, and pain pills around here and if he was picked up they most likely got him for one of those.

Im pretty close to your neck of the woods. Pain pills are a bigger problem here than all other drugs combined.

Pain pills and meth have taken over here. Most likely, you're right, it was pain pills.

Might as well quit wasting money on a custody battle if he is doing drugs

Personally I don't think he was using. I think he may have gotten mixed in with the wrong people and was selling to make extra money. I base this on the fact that he was struggling financially with the child support he was paying out - but who the fuck knows.

cant you just call the jail? I am pretty sure its "public record" .. if you go down to the courthouse you can search their database for anything in that county as well.

All info will be listed under the Judicial Circuit Public Index in your county. Should be a website for it, the. You can filter by civil and criminal. You can find info on the divorce precedings too if you want. From traffic tickets to any charge, it's all there. Let me know if you need help.

Yea, hopefully not. I know around here the family courts use hair follicle drug test that go back 3 months instead of pee test.....hope for the best for him
