Saturday: 3-3-1, + 2.24 units. The Royals game taketh away and the Braves game gave back. However, I did not see Teheran struggling like that, and Villanueva looking so good. And by the way, Francisco, the Braves 3B, is a strikeout machine. Last year I believe he had the worst AB:K ratio in the majors. He must be an amazing fielder. Not too disappointed by Saturday. This year I have only 2 bad beats of my 6 losses. The rest have been close games.

Detroit -1 (-126). 3 units
Detroit RL. (+125) one unit. That makes 4 units on a sweep of the Yankees. I look at the -1 number of -126 and see a bargain. Verlander against the Yankee-lite team. The Yankees still are giving line value based on their name, but honestly they are a bottom 3 team in the AL right now, only better than the Astros and maybe Cleveland… no, the Indians are better. Sabathia is looking like a slow starter as usual. His velocity is down as expected after not much pitching in the spring and winter elbow surgery. He looks a little chubbier from inactivity, and if it wasn't for his change-up, he'd be in serious trouble. Cabrera and Fielder and Tori Hunter have all hit him well lifetime anyways, and now he is a lesser pitcher. I also believe that this Yankee lineup and their fielding issues is one of the worst in 10 years to wear the Yankee uniform(maybe 20 years). Nunez, Youk, Boesch and Vernon Wells are all poor fielders, and they just can't hide that much bad defense. Sabathia's stuff now dictates that the ball will be in play more than usual. Finally, I think the Tiger fans and players couldn't be happier to witness and cheer on a Yankee sweep.

Reds. ML (+109).Two units. Can anyone explain how the Reds are at +109 at home, with Cueto on the mound? Is Strasburg god or something? Cueto pitched brilliantly against the tough Angels' lineup opening day while Strasburg tamed the mighty Marlins, with only 3 Ks. Cueto's last spring start was also very sharp. The Reds started the year a little cold, but it looks like they are starting to heat up. For the Nats, Bryce Harper is looking like the star he is supposed to be, but the rest of the team has been fairly mediocre. The lineup and the bullpen is down a notch- though the starting pitching will carry them. I like the Reds lineup a lot from 1-7.

Because Strausburg is the NL's best pitcher and Washington is the NL's best team.

There's a guy pitching for the Dodgers that might take umbridge as to who is the best pitcher in the NL. He also has more pitches than Strasburg. Their team might also be better than Washington.

Clearly debatable but you make good points.

Washington might be the best team, but much of that is their other starters that make them so good. But right now, for Sunday, they don't help- and I think Cueto is on his game even more so than Strasburg. And there are other factors that make the Reds the better team.

Both of these guys are going to be 'paid' .... and probably more than Verlander. If either of these guys ever hit the open market they'd possibly be 30 million dollars a year guys.

I only see +105 -1.5 RL on Tigers
Then maybe look harder / at other shops, +105 is a terribly bad line: Currently +123 at pinnacle, +120 at thegreek/betonline...to name just a few. Paying that much extra in juice will kill you over the course of a season.

Good luck on sunday again, o fred.

If you get the chance, try the LVH (former Hilton), at least vegasinsider lists their line at +120. Caesar's is listed at 110, would surprised if you couldn't at least find a +115 in LV. +105 should also be available for some time I guess (if it's worth the time/travel is a different question depending on your schedule/bet size) :)

Dodgers bought a loaded team but hasnt translated on the field. No home field advantage, very little emotion and for all the "great hitters" in the lineup their bats get very quiet for long stretches last year and this year as well.

Arizona. Ml (-102). 2 units. It's only the first week of the season and Milwaukee is in trouble. Their bullpen could still be a mess. Last year it was historically bad. They're missing Ramirez, Corey Hart and maybe Braun for Sunday's game. That is the meat of their order. Their defense has been horrible all through the spring, and continues to be into the season. Rickie Weeks and Betancourt are the kind of players that play for themselves. Ian Kennedy has looked great both in the spring and in his first start vs. STL. He seems to have finally learned to be patient with himself and adjust to the game as it is played. D-Backs also seem to like Miller Park, since it's a hitter's park like their own. Gallardo is the Brewers ace and is the only positive I see for this game. He has pitched well vs. Arizona over the past 2 years.

Colorado-1 (-108) 2 units. Again this looks like a bargain. Edinson Volquez struggled opening day with his command and control, and back in the spring. This Rockies team hits about .270 lifetime vs. Volquez, while this Padres team is .160 lifetime vs. Chacin. Volquez has to deal with command problems, Coors Field, and a very strong lineup. Part of the reason I like this is the huge advantage between these 2 lineups. The Padres have gotten zero productivity from the top and bottom lineup while the Rockies have 4 guys on fire. Padres have the bullpen advantage so I might put a unit on the Rockies first 5 tomorrow.
