Who has been? I only live 45 minutes from Augusta so I have been numerous times. It's shocking how many people from all over the world come here for it. Met some guys from Canada at my local golf course yesterday. Last year, some guys from Australia. It's crazy. If you have never been, it really is an experience. The course is off one of the busiest highways in Augusta and once you are inside the gate, it's an amazing site. My favorite thing to do is go to the range and watch them practice.

Just heard on the radio that ticket prices are the highest they have been since 1997. Selling for 7k. 1k for practice round.

I've been on Michigan 3 times in this tournament. But I'm leaving this one alone. I think Michigan is capable of winning it, but I don't see any value here.

One year back in the 1980's when I attended during the week Nick or Sir Nick as we know him today Faldo won. It was cold in the morning but warmed up nicely for the afternoon action. The crowd favorites in the group I saw were Palmer, Nicklaus and Norman. Another year most recently the crowd favorities were Player, Palmer and Nicklaus in the practice round with Cabrera the eventual winner in the tournament. The walk along any portion of the course is scenic and relaxing but the stretch up the back nine up to the Club House can be strenuous to older folks who may not be accustomed to walking up grades. Make sure you get a bathroom break in and put some water in your body before you start out on your walk is what I have found best. If you go with a family member, spouse, or friend, you can split up for individual time but have a check in point somewhere along the course and meet back there every few hours just for a safety measure. I enjoyed the Gift Shop for window shopping but prices are steep and you may come out better by just snapping some photographs of Magnolia Lane or Amen Corner as souvenirs.

Was there on Wed. A few years back and got offered $5k a piece for the rest of my week of badges. I was ready to go sit in the car, but couldn't as I was on a business trip with clients...ugh. Let that happen again this time...

Finally I have a Major in my own backyard. US Open at Merion in June. I can take public transportation to get there. No travel expenses or hotel accommodations. Merion is a small course, not really set up for the influx of patrons. I will definitely make it out for Thursday or Friday round.

Awesome! My favorite round at the Masters is Wed bc of the Par 3 afterwards. Quite a show and cool to watch...

I hate golf tournaments. I lived in Ponte Vedra Beach (Florida) for years. PVB is the headquarters of the PGA Tour....and The Players Championship.

The snobby, arrogant, pricks that show up down there are unreal! The traffic is a bitch. All the bars & restuarants are packed. It's a shit show! I used to deliberately leave town!
